Are you stressed about your kids starting the new school year? The costs? The logistics? Transportation? Kids aren't the only ones who can be intimidated by it! What can you do to minimize stress?
1. Plan schedule ahead of time. Take the time to make the time. Think ahead. Get things done before they turn into crisis!
2. Shop ahead. Watch now for the items you know your child will need. Don't wait until school is about to start to collect their items.
3. Talk to your child about what to expect: new friends, new teachers, new schedule, new opportunities...help them to be anticipating, not dreading. They can read your attitude!

Measure your marriage. Go ahead! On a scale from 1-10 (10 being perfect), where are you? Notice the task is not to measure your spouse, and the question is not where is your spouse on that scale. If we know anything at all about relationships, we know we cannot reach into the heart of anyone and change it to be the person we want. We cannot even trust our own hearts! They are deceitful and wicked above all things! So, how do we honestly self-examine to see what we look like in the mirror of God’s word? Is Jesus Christ pleased with your marriage? With you? Are you exercising the responsibilities Christ has assigned to you as a husband, as a wife? What are those? Can you name them? Do you want to address the conflicts and areas of persistent struggle and challenge? Do you want to know genuine freedom and victory in your life and marriage?

Join us at First Baptist Church Azle as we embark on a new semester (16-week course) called Re/Engage, a couples’ course designed to examine and grow Christian marriages to better reflect the covenantal relationship between Jesus Christ and His beautiful, precious Bride. FBC provides the class facilitators, child care, discussion/questions/prayer throughout, and a celebration dinner at the close of the course.
