“I did what you told me to do.” 🫣

Speaking personally as a therapist, hearing a client say those words triggers a confusing mix of pride… and a small internal wince.

Why? Because therapy isn’t about us handing out advice, telling you how to live your life, or taking sides to “set your partner straight.” (That’s not how this works! 👋)

Think of a therapist as a mirror with a filter-free view. 🪞

Our job isn’t to steer the wheel—it’s to reflect back what we see, help you translate what’s happening beneath the surface, and notice patterns you might be missing. We provide the perspective, but you choose the path forward.
