ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital joined ProMedica in May 2000, furthering our mission to provide local residents access to the highest levels of comprehensive medical care. ProMedica is a locally owned, nonprofit healthcare organization serving northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. During Cancer Survivorship Month, we’re proud to share John’s story—one of strength, perseverance and the power of local care.

After being diagnosed with colon cancer, John chose ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital for treatment just minutes from his home. “It’s real handy…very lucky,” he said. From chemotherapy to ongoing maintenance care, that convenience has helped him stay on track every step of the way.

But for John, it’s the people who made the biggest impact. “The people out there have taken really good care of me. Excellent, excellent people.” He’s especially grateful for caregivers like Chelsea Phillips, RN, and Elissa “Brittney” Young, RN.

At FCH, patients receive compassionate, personalized cancer care close to home—including infusion services and support throughout treatment and recovery.
