Your weekly grocery run has more impact on your health than almost any single workout.

Get it right and healthy eating practically takes care of itself. Get it wrong — or go in without a plan — and the whole week gets harder than it needs to be.

Here's how we approach it:

✔️ Eat before you go. Hunger is not a great decision-maker. Don't let it choose your food for the week.

✔️ Go in with a list and stick to it. We build ours around the 3-2-1 method — 3 vegetables, 2 proteins, 1 grain or starch — and fill in from there. The list removes the mental load in the moment.

✔️ Shop the perimeter first. Produce, protein, dairy — the whole foods live on the edges. The middle aisles have their place, but the perimeter is where most of your cart should come from.

✔️ Scan labels quickly for three things. Protein, fiber, and added sugar. Those three numbers tell you most of what you need to know about whether something belongs in your cart.

✔️ Buy ingredients, not products. The more a food has been assembled for you, the less control you have over what's actually in it. Chicken breast, eggs, broccoli, sweet potatoes — those are ingredients. Most of what's in the center aisles is a product.

✔️ Check the green drink aisle carefully. We've mentioned this before — some of the "healthiest" looking drinks in the produce section contain 40+ grams of sugar with minimal fiber to slow it down. Labels matter more here than anywhere else in the store.

A little planning goes a long way. And when your kitchen is stocked with the right things, making good choices stops being a willpower exercise and starts being the path of least resistance.

📌 Save this for your next grocery run.

You know those nights when cooking is the last thing you want to do?

This is the recipe for those nights.

One pot. 30 minutes. 43 grams of protein per serving. And the leftovers make lunch a no-brainer for the next two days.

🍲 Chicken and White Bean Stew
Serves 4

2 Tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
5 garlic cloves, smashed and peeled
1 tsp dried thyme
Red pepper flakes to taste
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 cups (960ml) chicken broth
2 cans (15oz / 425g) cannellini beans, drained
1 bunch kale, escarole, or another dark leafy green, stems removed and leaves coarsely chopped

1️⃣ Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until softened and golden, 8 to 10 minutes.

2️⃣ Add chicken, broth, and white beans. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until chicken is cooked through (165°F / 74°C), 10 to 14 minutes.

3️⃣ Transfer chicken to a bowl. Smash some beans against the side of the pot to thicken the broth. Stir in the greens and simmer uncovered while you shred the chicken.

4️⃣ Shred chicken with two forks. Stir back into the stew and season to taste.

Macros per serving: 435 calories | 43g protein | 45g carbs | 10.5g fiber | 9g fat

This recipe is a perfect example of how we approach nutrition inside the Rise & Rebuild Peak Life Kickstart — and it comes down to three simple principles:

1️⃣ Balanced macros. Protein to protect and build muscle. Fiber to support gut health and keep you full. Healthy fat to support hormonal balance. All working together in one bowl.

2️⃣ Portions that fit your goals. Not restriction. Not guesswork. A framework that scales to what your body actually needs — whether that's fat loss, muscle maintenance, or simply feeling better every day.

3️⃣ Eliminating (or significantly reducing) ultra-processed foods — takes care of itself when you're cooking meals like this one. Real ingredients don't need a degree in label-reading.

This is what the Kickstart nutrition plan looks like in practice. No deprivation. No complicated rules. Just real food, smart portions, and a system that actually works with your life.

The Rise & Rebuild cohort opens September 14th.

Today we pause. 🕊️

Twenty-five years ago the world changed. And the lives of nearly 3,000 people — and everyone who loved them — changed forever.

We remember them today. 🕊️

We remember the first responders who ran toward the unthinkable.

We remember the ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage.

And we remember that on the hardest day this country had seen in a generation — people showed up for each other.

That still matters. 🕊️

Never forget.

I lived this for years.

VP of Finance at Iridium Communications. High stakes, high pressure, high everything.

I couldn't sleep to save my life — exhausted all day, staring at the ceiling at night. I was angry all the time. Zero patience for anything or anyone. My blood pressure was creeping toward hypertension. And the weight kept coming.

I didn't think of myself as someone who was "running on stress."

I thought of myself as someone who was doing what the job required.

That's the thing about chronic stress — especially the kind that comes with a high-achieving career. It doesn't feel like stress. It feels like life. It feels like what you signed up for. It feels normal.

Until your body starts telling you otherwise.

Looking back now, through the lens of everything Randy and I have built with ExecLevel Wellness and the Molecular Wellness™ Framework, I can see exactly what was happening. My allostatic load — the cumulative burden my body was carrying — had exceeded my capacity to recover from it. And it was showing up in my sleep, my mood, my blood pressure, and my body composition all at once.

Not because I was weak.
Not because I was doing everything wrong.
Because the system was overloaded and nobody had taught me how to address the root cause.

That's exactly why we built the Peak Life Kickstart the way we did.

Because I know what it feels like to be a driven, capable adult who is running on fumes and can't figure out why nothing is working. And I know what it feels like on the other side.

If any of those five signs in this carousel sound familiar — you're not broken. You just need a different approach.

The Rise & Rebuild cohort opens September 14th. 28 days. 30 minutes a day. 100% online and on demand. $119.

Every time we come back from a trip — whether it's a week hiking in Alaska or a long weekend away — we know one thing to be true.

Getting back into the routine is hard.

Not because we've lost our discipline. Not because we've forgotten what to do. But because of something Newton figured out a few centuries ago that applies just as much to your health habits as it does to physics.

A body at rest tends to stay at rest.

Newton's First Law of Motion. And it's the real reason getting restarted feels so much harder than it should. It's not a character flaw. It's not weakness. It's literally how objects — including human beings — behave.

But here's the other half of that law that doesn't get talked about enough:

A body in motion tends to stay in motion.

Once you're moving, momentum builds. And momentum changes everything.

We call this the Big Mo. And it's one of the principles we come back to over and over — with our clients and with ourselves — because it reframes the whole challenge.

The goal isn't to feel motivated before you start. The goal is to start so that motivation follows.

One workout. One solid meal. One good night of sleep. That's enough to get the momentum moving in the right direction again.

If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to get started — or restarted — this is your sign. The first step is the hardest one. After that, physics is working in your favor.

And if you want a system that makes that first step as simple as possible — with real coaching and a community of driven adults over 50 behind you — the Rise & Rebuild Peak Life Kickstart opens September 14th.

hey there! If we haven't met yet — hi. We're Amy and Randy Nelson, co-founders of ExecLevel Wellness.

We're two real humans in our 50s and 60s, based in Fountain Hills, Arizona, who got tired of being told that feeling tired, soft, and slower was just "part of getting older."

So we did something about it. And then we built a system to help other driven adults over 50 do the same.

Here's what we hear most from the people who find us:

"I'm doing everything right. Eating well. Staying active. And my body just isn't responding the way it used to."

We believe them. Every time.

Because after 10 years of coaching adults through exactly this struggle, here's what we know:

This isn't a willpower problem. It's not a discipline problem. It's a biology problem.

After 50, your body is dealing with three specific challenges that most fitness programs completely ignore:

🔥 Quiet inflammation — driving belly fat, brain fog, stiffness, and stalled results
💪 Muscle loss — slowing your metabolism in ways that eating less will never fix
⚡ Energy breakdown — not just fatigue, but a cellular-level shift in how your body produces and uses energy

These aren't signs that you're failing. They're signs that the strategy needs to change.

That's exactly what the Rise & Rebuild Peak Life Kickstart is built to address.

It's a 28-day, science-backed program for adults over 50 who want to:

✅ Support your body's natural response to inflammation and finally move the needle on belly fat
✅ Build real strength and protect the muscle they still have
✅ Restore consistent energy — without living on caffeine
✅ Feel genuinely capable and confident in their body again

And it fits into your life —
100% online, on demand, accessible from anywhere in the US or Canada. About 30 minutes a day. That's it.

And it starts September 14th.

Here's what one of our members, Joanne, said after her first Kickstart at 62:

"I was at a standstill. I thought I was stuck and about gave up. I am more focused and feel great. I have lost 28 pounds and am now 10 pounds away from my goal weight. I now have the tools to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle for LIFE."**

This isn't a quick fix. It's not a detox. It's not a one-size-fits-all plan.

It's a system designed specifically for how your body works right now — with real coaching, real community, and real support behind you every step of the way.

28 days. 30 minutes a day. $119.

And it's backed by a 31-day money-back guarantee — so you can get started with complete confidence.

If you're ready to stop spinning your wheels and start working with your biology instead of against it, we'd love to have you in the September 14th cohort.

Your morning routine gets a lot of attention. But what you do the night before? That's where your morning is actually won or lost.

Here's what we've learned the hard way:

When our travel schedule throws off our evening routine — no prep, no wind-down, just collapsing into bed — the next morning tells the story immediately. Slower to start. Reaching for a second Energize before 8am. Making reactive decisions about food because nothing is ready. Feeling behind before the day has even begun.

Sound familiar?

Here's the science behind why this happens. Cortisol — your primary stress hormone — is naturally elevated in the morning. That's by design. It's what gets you moving. But when you start your day already scrambling, already behind, you're adding stress on top of an already elevated baseline. Everything feels harder than it needs to.

The nighttime routine is what prevents that cascade from starting.

A few things that make the biggest difference for us:

🌙 Prepping tomorrow before bed — workout clothes out, supplements ready, food plan in place
🌙 A real wind-down — screens and lights dimmed, something that signals to your nervous system that the day is done
🌙 A consistent bedtime — not a target, an actual non-negotiable

None of this is complicated. But all of it compounds.

September is a natural reset point — new season, new rhythm. If you're going to build one new habit this month, this is the one with the highest downstream return.

What's one thing you do the night before that makes your morning better? Tell us in the comments 👇

Your core is working all day long — even when you're not thinking about it.

Every time you stand up from a chair. Carry groceries in from the car. Reach for something on a high shelf. Catch yourself before you stumble.

Your core is there. Stabilizing, protecting, making it possible.

And here's what most people over 50 don't realize: traditional ab exercises — crunches, sit-ups — only train one small piece of what your core actually does. Real core strength comes from training it the way it actually functions. In every direction. Under load. While your body is moving.

That's exactly what this circuit does.

The Full-Direction Core Circuit
Complete 1–3 rounds. Rest 60–90 seconds between rounds.

1. Dead Bug — 10 reps per side
Move slowly and with control. Lower your opposite arm and leg toward the floor while keeping your lower back pressed firmly into the ground.

2. Bird Dog — 10 reps per side
From hands and knees, extend your opposite arm and leg simultaneously. Keep your hips level — no rotating.

3. Curl-Up — 15–20 reps
Draw your chest toward your knees with control. Slow is harder. Slow is better.

4. Pallof Press — 10 reps per side
Using a resistance band anchored at chest height, press straight out and hold briefly before returning. Resist any rotation through your torso. No band? A standing oblique hold works.

5. Plank — 20–45 second hold
Hips level. Core braced. Breathing steady. If your form breaks, drop to your knees and keep the quality.

Try it and hit the comments — which one challenged you most? We're genuinely curious. 👇

08/28/2026

We hear this constantly from driven adults who come to us frustrated:

"I'm eating less. I'm exercising more. And nothing is moving."

We believe them. Every time.

Because we've worked with enough high-achieving adults over 50 to know this isn't a discipline problem. These are not lazy people. These are not unmotivated people. These are people who have built careers, raised families, and carried serious responsibility their entire lives.

And their bodies are not responding the way they used to. Not because they're doing something wrong — but because the advice they're following was never designed for the biology they're working with now.

Here's what we know after 10 years of coaching adults through this exact struggle:

Stubborn belly fat in midlife is a biology problem. And it responds to a very specific set of inputs that generic fitness advice completely ignores.

Chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated — and elevated cortisol drives fat storage directly to your midsection, regardless of how clean you're eating.

Poor sleep disrupts the hormones that regulate appetite and fat metabolism — making fat loss harder even when your nutrition is dialed in.

The wrong kind of exercise adds physical stress to a system that's already overwhelmed — and can make things worse, not better.

And muscle loss after 50 slows your metabolism in ways that caloric restriction alone will never fix.

This isn't about trying harder. It's about trying differently.

The Rise & Rebuild Peak Life Kickstart opens September 14th. It's a 28-day, science-backed system that addresses all four of these areas together — built specifically for adults over 50 who are done spinning their wheels and ready to work with their biology instead of against it.

If you've been doing everything "right" and still not seeing results — you're not broken. You just need a different system.
