Earlier this month, members of our peer support team were at the State House to advocate for legislation to support peer respites and strengthen fundamental rights for those in the mental health system. After attending a panel on the issue, Advocates' staff met with legislators in the State House to further discuss the importance of funding peer respite programs across the state.

Worcester Business Journal's Power 100 *isn’t* a list of the people who hold the most power in Central Massachusetts. It’s a list of the people who most effectively use their power to have outsized influence on the region.

It's therefore no surprise that Regina Marshall, incoming CEO of Advocates, was named to the 2026 WBJ Power 100 list. Regina's exceptional vision and experience and strong connections to the communities we serve position her to continue making a powerful impact in Central Massachusetts and beyond. She embodies the shared values that guide all of us at Advocates — humility, inclusion, collaboration, and an unwavering focus on the people at the heart of our work.

Congratulations, Regina, on this well-deserved recognition!

Last week, our 10th annual Sunset at Southwick's Zoo Sensory Friendly Experience, brought together families and friends for an unforgettable evening of connection and joy. Thanks to the Autism Alliance of MetroWest team, our Advocates staff and volunteers, and the support of our sponsors Wenygttom and Friends, Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, and ABS Behavioral Health Services, LLC, everyone enjoyed a truly welcoming atmosphere.

The highlight of the night was honoring Betsey Brewer, Zoological Director, with the Jeff Keilson Autism Welcoming Community Vision Service Award. Her extraordinary leadership and unwavering dedication inspire us to dream bigger and help create a more inclusive world. Thank you, Betsey, for lighting the way and making our community stronger and more hopeful! Here’s to another decade of magical moments and lasting impact—together!

“Across Massachusetts, local police departments are seeing a continued increase in mental health-related calls for service. Maintaining strong partnerships and ensuring access to behavioral health resources through jail diversion and co-response programs is critically important. Continued funding for these initiatives helps departments respond more effectively, connect individuals to appropriate care, and strengthen public safety outcomes for our communities.”

-Regina Marshall, Advocates Chief Operating Officer
