Parkview Haven is recognizing our employees that have reached years of service for 5, 10, 15 and more.

Our next employee to recognize is Cassie. Cassie was hired as a CNA on August 15 and has served those living at Parkview Haven for 15 years. Thank you Cassie for being a part of our TEAM in serving those at Parkview Haven!

Being part of a small farming community is the BEST! Shucking sweet corn is something that many families do. Parkview Haven was Blessed with sweet corn. It is wonderful to be able to reminisce about how good, sweet corn tastes with the butter dripping down your face as you eat it. The corn was totally shucked in a short amount of time. This was definitely not the first time of their shucking. Thank you to those that provided sweet corn for Parkview Haven.

LaCrosse Apostolic Church recently hosted a family potluck meal for those living at Parkview Haven. This was originally planned for the Fellowship Center behind Parkview Haven, just a short walk; however, Mother Nature had other plans. The day of the event the rain never stopped so we go to plan B and move the potluck to Parkview Haven. Plan B requires lots of changes for those hosting as well as those attending. Everyone did their best to make it special. Food serving was in full swing and about 3/4 of those in attendance were eating and then Mother Nature's humor provided a Tornado Warning which means everything stopped and evacuation to the safe zones happened. After the Tornado Warning, everyone headed back to the dining area. Parkview truly appreciates EVERYONE that attended this event, planned this event and helped make this family gathering go so smoothly with all the challenging curve balls thrown our way. This is definitely one special event that will always be remembered!

Today our eldest elder celebrated his 100th birthday. The cake was decorated by Fingerhut Bakery, North Judson. Family and friends attended this special celebration. He shared a story with all in attendance and expressed how thankful he was for everyone that attended. He had his great granddaughter help cut the first & second piece of cake for him and her. What a Blessing he is!

🎉 Congratulations to Our Employee Giveaway Winners!

We’re excited to announce that Casie Allen, Alex Anderson, Konnie Belcher, Skyler Elston, Amy Looney, Julia Melton, Emma Taylor and Patricia Travis won our Employee Excellence Giveaway!

To qualify, team members had to maintain perfect attendance, no write-ups, no tardies, no missed punches, and completed all educational trainings during the recent pay period.

Thank you to all of our incredible staff who continue to show dedication and excellence every day!

At Parkview Haven, when the weather is nice what better way to discuss gardening than out on the patio with refreshments and sweet banana muffin treats made by Kristie Beckner. Kristie hosted this evening program and all that attended enjoyed.

National Vanilla Ice Cream Day was celebrated at Parkview Haven and with additional ice cream options. Parkview Haven served ice cream cones with flavor choices of vanilla, blueberry, strawberry or superman. Those attending also had the choice of sprinkles. Any day that ice cream is served it is a good day. Check out the smiles!

Today Parkview Haven celebrated Christmas in July. Everyone was encouraged to wear a Christmas shirt or Christmas colors. Christmas carols were playing throughout Parkview Haven. The morning kicked off with The Nativity Story Left Right Game which all those participating selected a bag which had to be handed left or right depending on the story.... lots of smiles. Dairy Queen was the dine in luncheon choice. After lunch, Christmas Songs of all times were available on the TVs for anyone that wanted to listen. The afternoon Barb Huber played Christmas Carols, and wouldn't you know Santa dropped in to say hello, what a nice surprise. After Santa's visits Christmas cookies (from Fingerhut Bakery) were served with punch. After dinner, Christmas Trivia was a hit. A fun day for all those at Parkview Haven.

Kitchen Capers was held at Parkview Haven today and we had a very special guest, Hattie Nielsen. Hattie provided a demonstration on the molasses cookies that she made for the Pulaski County 4-H fair which she received champion and will be making more for the Indiana State Fair. Hattie made the cookies at Parkview Haven and shared them with those in attendance. While the cookies were baking, she shared her 4-H books poster on Harry Potter and her electrical project. Her brother, Grover, showed the photographer some of his favorite toys. Thank you, Hattie, for spending your time with Parkview Haven and sharing your cookies. Parkview Haven wishes you good luck with your cookies at the Indiana State Fair!
