🚨 UPDATE (From the City of Frankenmuth)
WE ARE STILL OPEN 😊

Westbound Traffic on East Genesee Rerouted for Construction this Week

The City of Frankenmuth is alerting drivers that westbound traffic on East Genesee is being rerouted from Wednesday, August 19 to Friday, August 21. This is for westbound drivers on East Genesee Street, east of M-83, and is designed to accommodate essential roadwork ahead of the upcoming school year.

Crews are working to complete targeted infrastructure upgrades in front of the middle school, elementary school, high school, and bus garage. The current phase of construction involves adjusting manholes and paving side street approaches.

To safely facilitate these improvements, westbound traffic east of M-83 is being detoured. This traffic pattern change will remain in effect Wednesday through Friday, from 7 am to 7 pm. The street will reopen in both directions outside of these times.

Drivers heading westbound toward M-83 are advised to follow construction flaggers or seek alternate routes. Please allow extra travel time, slow down in active work zones, and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
