I came across an article where Dr. David Dodick, a professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic, shared his brain-health routine… and TCM + Ayurveda called it thousands of years ago!

Here it is in ancient modern language:

😴 SLEEP — sacred repair
• He calls it “non-negotiable”
• TCM: night restores Yin; the Shen settles into the Heart to rest
• Ayurveda: early rest lets the body cleanse & renew
• Deep rest isn’t lazy — it’s medicine

🏃‍♀️ MOVEMENT — flow, don’t force
• Gentle, sustained movement (the pace where you can still talk)
• TCM: keeps Qi & Blood circulating, prevents stagnation
• Ayurveda: move in harmony with your constitution, not to depletion
• Smooth flow over hard burn 🌊

🥗 FOOD — nourish your fire
• He follows a brain-supporting diet rich in leafy greens, berries, nuts, olive oil & whole foods — and says to ease in 1–2 days a week
• TCM: warm, cooked foods protect the Spleen & Stomach, the root of Qi & Blood; cold/raw foods can weaken digestion and favor foods that suit your constitution
• Ayurveda: tend your Agni (digestive fire) — eat your largest meal midday when digestion is strongest, and favor foods that suit your dosha
• Both traditions agree: a strong gut is the foundation of a clear mind 🧠
• Baby steps. How you transition matters as much as what you eat. 🔥

🤝 CONNECTION — feed the spirit
• Be intentional with family & friends
• TCM: the Heart houses the Shen; warmth feeds the spirit
• Ayurveda: the medicine of sangha — community as a pillar of health
• You are nourished by your people ❤️

✨ His most freeing reminder: you don’t need perfection — consistency over a lifetime is what heals. The Middle Way. Balance, not extremes. 80% effort is okay in all that you do!💕💕💕

✨Three Paths that lead to the Same Place✨

Ever wonder what Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Reiki actually are — and why I keep talking about them together? Let me break it down.

Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy comes from India and is built on the doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Think of these as your inner climate. We each have a unique constitution (prakriti), and when life pulls us out of balance (vikriti), symptoms surface. A racing mind often points to too much Vata; heat and irritability lean toward Pitta; heaviness toward Kapha. The medicine? Breath, movement, meditation, diet, and daily rhythm — yoga used as therapy, matched to you.

Traditional Chinese Medicine comes from China and is built on the Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — and the flow of qi through the meridians. Instead of doshas, TCM identifies patterns of disharmony: Liver Qi stagnation, Spleen Qi deficiency, Kidney Yin deficiency. From there the treatment becomes clear — move what’s stuck, tonify what’s depleted, cool what’s overheated. The tools are acupuncture, herbs, food therapy, and lifestyle.

Reiki comes from Japan and works with ki — universal life energy. Through gentle hands-on (or hands-near) placements, a Reiki practitioner channels this energy and senses where it feels blocked or depleted (byosen), inviting the body into a deep state of rest where its own healing can unfold.

Here’s the beautiful part: all three read the body the same way — energy first, structure second. Prana, qi, and ki are three names for the same vital current. Nadis, meridians, and the body’s energy field map the same territory. Each tradition teaches that health is living in alignment with nature, and imbalance shows up in our energy before it becomes physical disease. Different maps. One truth.

This is exactly why they work so beautifully side by side — three doorways into the same kind of deep, whole-person care. 🤍

Here’s something worth knowing the next time a hard feeling shows up: your emotions aren’t here to judge you. They’re here to protect you. ❤️🙏🏻

Deep in your brain, your wiring reacts before your thinking mind ever gets a say — neuroscientist show just how fast that alarm fires. And guess what?! A wave of emotion only lasts about 90 seconds as your body moves the chemistry through. Ninety seconds!! The story you build on top of it is actually what lingers.

When I took my second-year point location comprehensive exam that I knew I was well prepared for, my mind went completely blank. I only had 10 minutes to complete the exam, but I stopped and said to myself I know this stuff and closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths, and it all came back and I passed my exam. So it’s a for real thing!!

Under stress, everything shrinks. Your focus narrows, problems look enormous, your options feel few, and even the people you love can feel far away. So we do the very thing that hurts most — we cancel, we retreat, we don’t think we’re good enough, or we decide we’d only be a burden. But connection is usually exactly what we need.

The way back doesn’t start in your head. It starts in your body. A few slow breaths, a hand over your heart — small signals that tell your nervous system you are safe. From that calmer place, perspective widens on its own. And over time, the gentle habits carry you: a walk outside, a quiet moment, speaking to yourself with the same kindness you’d offer someone you love.

Because awareness creates choice. Even on the heavy days when you feel hurt, not good enough, angry, frustrated, or sad, in the end you get to decide who you’re being underneath the storm. ❤️❤️❤️

Can’t switch off at night? Try moving before you lie still. 🌙
Five minutes of slow, gentle stretching in bed does two things at once: it releases the physical tension your body collected all day — especially in the low back and hips, where we quietly hold stress — and it signals to your nervous system that the day is officially over. No equipment, no getting back up, no excuse. 😊

This little sequence works from the spine into the hips, down the thighs, and finishes with the part that matters most for sleep: deep belly breathing to switch on your vagus nerve and shift you into “rest-and-digest” mode. (Swipe to the last slides for the why. 🧠)
Keep everything slow and easy — bedtime stretching should feel like a long exhale, not exercise.

Save this for tonight and tag someone whose mind races the second their head hits the pillow. 💛

Although all yoga can be therapeutic, there is a difference between going to a yoga class and going to get yoga therapy — and it matters deeply if you’re living in a body that hurts—emotionally and/or physically.

Yoga therapy is a class led by experienced Certified Yoga Therapists or Yoga Teachers that have a background rooted in anatomy, neuroscience, clinical science, food therapy, and a real understanding of chronic conditions. It’s not about pushing harder or holding longer. It’s about listening — to what your nervous system is telling you, to what your tissues need, to the patterns that have kept you stuck.
Your practice should feel safe, like a soft place to land — not something you have to prepare yourself to get through.
If it hasn’t felt that way, you simply may not have found your right practice yet. And that’s okay.

Because the heart/mind-body are connected, we work from the inside out and then, in your own time, eventually something will shift. Not just physically — but in how safe and confident you feel in your own body.

The answers — and the healing — were always within you. It’s just a matter of finding the right class or teacher to help you find those tools! 🤍🦋✨💕

New weekly Saturday class — and I’d love to see you there!!! 🙏🏻❤️
In both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, slow, intentional movement isn’t just exercise — it’s medicine. It moves Qi through stagnant meridians, kindles Agni (your digestive fire), and brings the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and back into balance.

Slow flow yoga is exactly that. Breath-led. Deliberate. Rooted in the understanding that the body heals when we stop rushing it.

Every Saturday morning at Infinity Wellness, we create that space together — for your Wood Element to flow freely, your Vata to settle, and your whole self to arrive.

All levels welcome. Come as you are.🙏🏻❤️🥰🦋✨

Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of practicing medicine — not for prestige, but for the simplest reason: I wanted to help people.
Life had other plans first. Raising a family, making ends meet, setting the dream aside. But my heart, it never really let go.
The pull kept coming back — quietly at first, then impossible to ignore. So I listened. I chose myself. I chose the path I always knew was mine. And I did it!!
Today, I am proud to share that I have graduated with my Master’s in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. 🎓✨
This degree is more than a credential. It is the fulfillment of a lifelong calling.
As Rumi said: “What you seek is seeking you.”
It was always seeking me. And I never stopped seeking it.
Thank you to my family and friends, especially my husband, who supported me and walked this crazy road with me. The best is yet to come. And I know this is only the beginning!
Next, my doctorate 🤩✨❤️
