There are many people are still surprised and couldn't believe that massage therapist has to finished schooling and needs to be licensed. Please be informed that being a MASSEUSE (does relaxation massages) AND BEING A LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST ARE TWO DIFFERENT CAREERS. Masseuse should be atleast certified and are not legally allowed to do deep body work and rehabilitation. While Licensed Massage Therapist has to study atleast 500, 700 to 1000 hours + in class/person studies, Anatomy +,plus must passed MBLEX national examination, plus continuous education for atleast 25 hours every two years to renew license, plus must follow State regulations and abide the laws. We, as LMT, are legally allowed to manipulate deep tissue muscle, without clothing but properly covered by sheets, post surgery, swelling and patients with chronic pains and injury. Because, our knowledge and studies are deeper and beyond massage techniques. We study rehabilitation, anatomy plus more and different modalities for healing, not only physically but also emotionally.
I went and study to many reputable schools of Healing like , Zen Shiatsu Chicago (Professional Body Work program, diploma) and many others. (Academy of Lymphatic Studies, certification), Medical Massage Therapy certification, Career institute in Colorado where i studied 9 mos on line plus one month in person in Colorado, Massage therapy program...etc. So please be informed. I am so happy to share the reviews from my actual clients who are giving great inspirations to me, to learn and do better, so i can help as many people as i can. I believe in my heart that if ALL massage therapist will aspire to do our best, we can be and should be included as part of HEALTH AND MEDICAL Industry. I hope before the end of my life, I will see the Massage Therapy Field be part of Medical in hospital, clinics and not only in SPA or parlor. Because as a licensed Massage Therapist for decades, I am seeing and experiencing improvements in health, emotional and physical of most if not all of my clients.
