“How can you do bunion or hammertoe surgery with just local anesthesia?”
The answer is the technique.
My minimally invasive procedures use tiny 2–3 mm incisions with minimal disruption to the surrounding soft tissues and no permanent hardware — no plates, screws, or pins sticking out of the toes.
The procedures are also designed to be efficient:
🦶 Hammertoe surgery: approximately 3–6 minutes per toe
🦶 Bunion surgery: approximately 12–25 minutes per bunion
Because we’re minimizing the disruption to the foot, these procedures can be performed using local anesthesia without putting the patient to sleep.
