Virginia Gail Callis

Virginia Gail Callis, age 75 of Lafayette, TN passed away August 4, 2026. She was born in White House, TN to the late Hardy and Lola Morgan.

Virginia will be remembered as a compassionate, selfless, and loving mother and granny who always put the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family and spending time with those she loved. She was proud of her work in home healthcare, where she dedicated herself to helping and caring for others with kindness and compassion. The same servant's heart she showed in her career was reflected in the way she lived her life each day.

She is survived by her son, Rodney (Kim) McCormick; grandchildren, Sharon McCormick, Danelle (Nick) Hall, Jennifer Jamison and numerous others; great grandchildren, Emma Woods, Kainon, Kyra, and King James Hall, Hunter Mcalpin; brother, Andrew Richard “Billy” (Eloise) Morgan; sister, Teresa Gail Wright; sister-in-law, Martha Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, John Clark; daughter, Regina Gail Jamison; siblings, Virgil Lee (Louise) Morgan, Mary Elizabeth Morgan, Edna Louise (Potsie) Huff, William Edward Jay (Martha) Morgan, Johnnie Eugene (June) Morgan, Shirley Ann Morgan and Betty Jean (JC) Keene.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Walter Kenneth "Kenny" Yowell

Walter Kenneth “Kenny” Yowell, age 71 of Lynnville, TN passed away August 3, 2026. He was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Forrest and Jewell Yowell.

Kenny graduated from Jones High School in Lynnville, TN. He retired from Nashville Machine where he worked for 20 years as an elevator mechanic. He enjoyed gardening and collecting knives.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Brandon) Stanley; sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Talley, Cheryl Russell, Arlene (Gary) Sims, Darlene Jordan, Sheila Burgess, and Lisa (Paul) Caouette; mother-in-law, Helen Marlin; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded by his wife, Vickie Yowell; son, Daniel Yowell; brothers, Morris Yowell and Clayton Yowell; father-in-law, Herbert Marlin; brother-in-law, Tommy Russell.

William "Billy" Burr Stinson

William “Billy” Burr Stinson, of Columbia, Tennessee, was born on January 9, 1932, and passed away on August 4, 2026 at the age of 94. Billy grew up in Franklin and attended Hillsboro High School, where he was a standout basketball player. He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Throughout his working life, Billy was employed by Middle Tennessee Electric, Franklin Power & Light, and later retired as a truck driver for Kroger.

Billy was a loving uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his humor, his willingness to offer advice, and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved to sing, play the guitar, dance, cheer on the University of Tennessee Vols and talk to all his family and buddies on the phone. One of his greatest passions was c**n hunting and raising c**n dogs. His dog, Stinson’s Radar, was a celebrated c**nhound, earning the titles of National Champion, Nite Champion, Grand Champion, and 1979 Tennessee State Champion.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Sweeney Stinson; his parents, C.I. “Ike” Stinson and Bessie Moore Stinson; his sisters, Edna Stinson and Cecil Stinson Smith; his brother, Donald Ray Stinson; and his nephew, Ronnie Stinson.

He is survived by his brother, Danny (Carolyn) Stinson; his Darling for the last 12 years, Betty Wright and her grandson Timothy Poteete; and his nieces and nephews, Diane (Tony) Emison, Millard (Kim) Smith, Terry (Gina) Smith, Vickie Stinson, Susan (Fred) Kane, Gary (Kim) Stinson, Shelia (David) Reed, and Eddie (Terri) Hood and 12 great nephews and nieces. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday, August 10, 2026 at Williamson Memorial Gardens, Jim Taylor officiating. Active pallbearers will be Danny Stinson, Millard Smith, Terry Smith, Gary Stinson, Eddie Hood, Timothy Poteete, Fred Kane and Butler Nichols. Visitation with the family will be 12:00 Noon until 3:00 PM at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Catelyn Sabrina Melton

Catelyn Sabrina Melton, 22, of Franklin, TN, unexpectedly passed away on August 1, 2026. Sabrina is survived by her father, William (Melissa) Melton; mother, Angelina Foster; siblings Phillip (Alexandria) Melton, Grey Melton, Grayson Herrmann, Addison Herrmann, Noah Herrmann, and Harper Melton; grandparents, Anneta (Allan) Deal, Irma Melton ; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Robert Melton.

Sabrina’s life was defined by her compassion, kindness, and curiosity. She had a special place in her heart for individuals with special needs, a love that was inspired and nurtured by her relationship with her beloved sister, Harper. Through that bond, she learned the beauty of patience, unconditional love, and celebrating every person's unique gifts.

Sabrina found beauty in the simple wonders of life. Butterflies always held a special meaning for her, reminding her of hope, transformation, and the quiet miracles found in everyday moments. While her family must grieve the dreams that will remain unfulfilled, they are profoundly grateful for the gift of her life. Her precious spirit will live on in every butterfly that catches their eye, every act of kindness towards others, and every cherished memory held close.

Charles "Al" Albert Emerson

Charles “Al” Albert Emerson age 81 of Brentwood, passed away Monday August 3, 2026. He was born in Rockford, Illinois to the late Otto and Hazel Emerson. He loved the Lord, loved his "girls", and loved volunteering and serving other people. Al worked for over 40 years as a project and applications engineer before retiring from a "job that he loved". He always talked about the cool things he got work on and design throughout his career. His closest co-workers will remember "sniper" fondly for his quick wit and humor. He was a dedicated volunteer at Room in the Inn for over twenty years and enjoyed volunteering with his wife at Graceworks. Over the years Al tinkered at home with his CNC machine, enjoyed playing card games with family while cooking something on his smoker, and loved on his "granddogger". He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Al is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Catherine “Cap” Elizabeth Emerson, his brothers Otto Emerson and Howard Emerson and sisters Mary Cline and Judy Carmody.

He is survived by his loving family, daughters; Stacey Emerson, Jenny (Scott) Hogan, three grandchildren; Leigh Ann Hogan, Hannah (Jonah) Augustine, Paige Hogan, and his sister; Elizabeth Chelinsky and many other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joseph Caldwell Street

Joseph Caldwell Street, age 77 of Franklin, TN passed away July 30, 2026, in Nashville, TN.

Joe was a Tennessee native, born in Chattanooga in 1948. He left there at age 14 to travel the United States for his father's work during the years leading up to his graduation from East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, in 1966.

That fall, Joe entered college at the University of North Carolina. The family once again moved, this time to Ames, Iowa, for his father's work and for Joe to attend Iowa State University.

After graduating in 1970, Joe took his first industry job in Kansas City as a structural designer for fossil fuel and nuclear power plant construction at Black & Veatch Engineering. It was there that Joe met his first true love, Jodi Street, who became his wife four years later. Together, they had two children, Michael and Suzanne, while living in Kansas City.

During this time, however, Joe recognized that there was yet another love in his life—the construction industry. While he appreciated that designing structural steel for nuclear power plants was both meaningful and rewarding, it simply wasn't a replacement for the passion and curiosity that had been cultivated over many years of observing his father's career. That passion was further developed through years of working on his father's construction projects during summer breaks, giving him the opportunity to gain experience in nearly every construction trade.

Universal Construction in Kansas City became Joe's first true commercial construction venture, where he primarily built hospitals. After eight years at Universal, an opportunity arose to move to Nashville to help build Phase 2 of the Opryland Hotel. Decades later, Joe retired from a distinguished career as President of T. W. Frierson Contractor, Inc.

Joe is survived by his son, Michael Street of Knoxville, TN; his daughter, Suzanne DuBose of Franklin, TN; his sister, Jill Phelan of Jefferson, GA; and his grandson, Andrew DuBose.

Joe would want to give special acknowledgment to the following people who made a lasting impact on his life.

First and foremost, he would recognize his stepmother, Charlotte Evans, who was the greatest single influence in his life. She taught him patience, cultivated his sense of humor, and gave him a firm understanding of the Almighty.

He would also honor his father, William Alfred Street, who taught him much of what he needed to succeed in the construction and automotive industries.

Joe was deeply grateful for his sister, Jill Phelan, whose constant support during an unstable home environment instilled in him confidence and a strong sense of self-worth.

He would also acknowledge Universal Construction Company of Kansas City, Kansas, for giving him the opportunity to apply his building skills in the world of commercial construction.

Finally, Joe was sincerely thankful to T. W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. for the opportunities the company provided him and his family over 25 years.

Julie Maddox Cain

Julie Maddox Cain, 74, passed away on July 25, 2026, in Franklin, Tennessee. Julie was born in Johnson City, Tennessee. She married John W. Cain, II on October 29, 1988, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from East Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Psychology, then she continued her education at Middle Tennessee State University where she received an M.A. in Psychology.

Julie worked as a psychological examiner in forensic and correctional mental health with the Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Sheriff's Department before leading two community mental health centers. She was an active member of the local Democratic Party, volunteering her time to support candidates and regularly working the polls on Election Day. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Foy Maddox, Johnson City. Julie is survived by her husband John W. Cain, II, her children, Sarah Beth Cain of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Eva L. Cain of Franklin, Tennessee, as well as her step-children, Noah B. Cain (Rebecca) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Stella O. Cain of Nashville, Tennessee, her sister Melissa Maddox Conner, and her brother John E. Maddox. A reception will be held Wednesday August 5, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the family residence in Franklin. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, at Bixby Presbyterian Church (1806 Fork Bixby Road, Advance, North Carolina), with Pastor Hyatt Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Southern Poverty Law Center or Planned Parenthood.

Julie will be remembered for her beautiful smile, great laugh, generous nature, playful sense of humor, resilient spirit, and the way she made others feel loved and welcomed.

Peggy Marie Martin

PEGGY MARIE CLARK MARTIN, born: 10/19/1944, in Giles County, TN and resided in Williamson County, TN She passed peacefully from this earth surrounded by family from an extended illness. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ernest Farris Martin, parents Daniel Archie & Gracie Margaret Bolton Clark both of Williamson County. Sisters: Linda Martin & Elizabeth Ford. Brothers, J.W. Clark, Dan Clark, Jesse Clark, Ray Clark, Larry “Shorty” Clark, Harold Dean Clark. Brother-in-law Wayne Martin and sister-in-law Sue Kelley. Survivors: include her Angels; daughters Roxanne Martin and Cindy (Joseph) Thoni of Franklin, Granddaughters Jacquelyne (Dave) Howard of LA, Lacey Thoni, and Shawna Thoni of Franklin and great grandson Vayden Thoni of Franklin, sister Sandra Alexander of SC and brother Cecil Clark of Franklin and sister-in-law Vera Tyner of Bolivar, TN, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Peggy was a very creative, caring and giving person. Her many talents were playing guitar where she taught many in the family how to play and they all learned Wildwood Flower from her. All children in the family were well loved and spoiled rotten by her, and none heard the word NO often if at all. She could draw and paint landscape pictures as well. She was a retired beautician & beauty shop owner as well as over the road team truck driver with her husband Farris.

The family would like to thank Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro for the care, love and attention they have shown to Peggy and the family. Pall Bearers will be Tony Martin, Brian Martin, Keith Martin, Ben Young, Daniel Lamb, Jeff Pardue, Steve Ford and Tim Ford.

Funeral Service will held Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 6-8 PM and on hour prior to service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Williamson Memorial Gardens.

H.K. "Ken" Reed

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of H.K. “Ken” Reed on July 24, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. He was born in Gadsden, AL. After high school graduation in 1970, he left Gadsden and joined the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Ceremonial Honor Guard in Washington, DC, served aboard two ships in Mayport, FL and finished his Navy career in Pittsburgh, PA. He then began his journey at Oak Ridge, TN as a courier for TSD. After retiring in 1996 from Oak Ridge, he opened a coin shop in Knoxville, TN and retired from that business in 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, G.E. & Mayme Reed and brother, Wayne Reed all of Owens Cross Roads, AL. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Richalynn “Richie” Reed; son, Peyton (Caitlyn) Reed; daughter, Kristin Smithson all of Knoxville, TN; brother, Tom (Russell) Reed of St. Cloud, FL. Funeral service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, July 29, 2026 with visitation two hours prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Chris Pitts will officiate. Burial will follow at College Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Joel Harper, Kaleb Pitts, Dylan Pitts, Andy Tidwell, Anthony Luster and Peyton Reed. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ken Reed will be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend to many. He was hardworking, loyal and honest. His spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew him well, and those whose paths he crossed.
