Do you use peptides? Are you wondering if they’d be helpful for you? There isn’t a blanket answer (and if someone is selling it to you like the fountain of youth…run far away). Dr. Ed works with his patients to come to a shared decision if peptides are the best tool for your symptoms. You don’t have to figure it out alone!

Episode 44 of the Fiat Health Podcast is here! 🎙️ “What if your infertility isn’t actually unexplained?”

If you’ve ever been told there’s no answer, there usually is. Caroline and Amanda break down how restorative reproductive medicine looks for root causes like endometriosis, PCOS, and thyroid dysfunction instead of stopping at “unexplained.” Plus what a stepwise, personalized treatment plan actually looks like.

Whether you’re trying to conceive, healing from loss, or just want to understand your body better…this one’s worth the listen. Link in bio!

Starting solids can be daunting!! Here’s a quick tip guide:

Around 6 months of age (not before 4 months).

👀 SIGNS BABY IS READY

Look for ALL three:

- ✔️ Sits up with support and holds head steady
- ✔️ Reaches for food, brings objects to mouth
- ✔️ Swallows food instead of pushing it out with tongue

🥇 GREAT FIRST FOODS

- Iron-rich foods: pureed meats, chicken, fish, broth
- Mashed vegetables: sweet potato, peas, squash, green beans
- Mashed fruits: banana, avocado, pear, peach
- Offer a variety of flavors and textures — including veggies!

💡 Tip: Breast milk or formula is still the main source of nutrition. Solids are a complement, not a replacement.

🥜 DON’T DELAY ALLERGENS

Introduce common allergens early and often (around 6 months):
- Peanut (thinned peanut butter or peanut puffs — never whole nuts)
- Egg
- Dairy (yogurt, cheese — but NO cow’s milk as a drink until 12 months)
- Soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, tree nuts

⚠️ High-risk babies (severe eczema or egg allergy): Talk to your pediatrician about introducing peanut as early as 4–6 months.

🚫 FOODS TO AVOID

- Honey — risk of botulism (no honey until age 1)
- Cow’s milk as a drink (not until 12 months)
- Added sugar
- Fruit juice and sugar-sweetened beverages

⚠️ CHOKING HAZARDS — Cut, Cook, or Skip!

These foods are dangerous in their whole form:

- 🚫 Whole grapes (cut lengthwise into quarters)
- 🚫 Hot dogs (cut lengthwise, then into small pieces)
- 🚫 Whole nuts and seeds
- 🚫 Raw carrots, apples, or celery (cook until soft)
- 🚫 Popcorn, hard candy, chunks of cheese or meat
- 🚫 Globs of nut butter (thin it out or spread thinly)

Do you love introducing solids? Or dread it??

Miscarriages happen for a reason and we do everything we can to proactively support women’s bodies to carry a pregnancy to term. Sometimes it’s an underlying infection that has to be treated, sometimes hormone levels are not ideal, sometimes there is an underlying clotting disorder.

There is HOPE 🕊️

Send this to someone you know who has had a loss, they need to know there are options and hope 💌

Do you struggle with infertility and feel like IVF is your only option?

It may not be that there aren’t answers. It may be that you haven’t found a provider willing to dig deeper to identify and treat the root cause.

In our latest episode of the Fiat Health Podcast, we talk about restorative reproductive medicine, why “unexplained infertility” deserves a closer look, and how a root-cause approach can open up new possibilities.
