7,000 Steps per day may be enough to make a difference!

Research published in The Lancet Public Health found that adults who walked approximately 7,000 steps per day had lower risks of:

❤️ Heart Disease
🧠 Dementia
🩸 Type 2 Diabetes
😊 Depression
⚕️ Premature Death

This means that an intense and rigorous exercise regimen is not the only thing that can make improvements on your health. You CAN make a difference with consistent daily movement - even something as simple as walking! Check out this article below for further details.

We’re excited to announce that beginning June 22nd, Franklin Physical Therapy will be welcoming an Occupational Therapist to our team!

Many people are familiar with physical therapy, but occupational therapy focuses on helping individuals perform the daily activities that are most important to them. Occupational therapists work with patients who may be experiencing challenges related to injury, surgery, arthritis, neurological conditions, hand and upper extremity injuries, balance concerns, or limitations that affect everyday tasks at home, work, or in the community.

Occupational therapy can help patients:

• Improve hand, wrist, and arm function
• Regain independence after surgery or injury
• Manage arthritis and chronic pain
• Improve coordination and fine motor skills
• Adapt daily activities to improve safety and independence
• Return to work, hobbies, and meaningful activities

Together, our physical therapy and occupational therapy services allow us to provide even more comprehensive care to help you stay active, independent, and doing the things you love.

If you’ve been dealing with pain, stiffness, balance issues, weakness, or limitations that are keeping you from enjoying your summer, now is a great time to reconnect with our team.

Call us today at 508-528-0147 to schedule an appointment. We look forward to helping you make the most of the season ahead!

💡 Physical Therapy: Myths vs. Reality

Many people think PT is only for injuries or post-surgical recovery—but that’s just one piece of the puzzle.

✅ PT helps improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.
✅ Physical therapists treat much more than pain, including dizziness, balance issues, neurological conditions, fall prevention, pelvic health/floor, and much more.
✅ We won’t tell you to necessarily stop doing your favorite activities
✅ PT is a collaborative process focused on helping you return to the activities you love.

Don’t let common myths keep you from moving better and feeling stronger. Physical therapists are movement specialists dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Check out this article to dive deeper into common myths vs reality related to physical therapy. https://www.health.harvard.edu/healthy-aging-and-longevity/physical-therapy-myths-vs-reality
