We’re so careful about the toxins in our food and water — but bitterness and jealousy contaminate the body just as much, if not more. 🌿
Chronic emotional stress raises cortisol, disrupts hormones, inflames the gut, and taxes the nervous system — the same way any environmental toxin does. Your body keeps score of what your heart won’t let go of.
Scripture actually warns us about this directly. In Hebrews 12:15 (ESV), we’re told to watch that no one misses out on God’s grace, and that no “root of bitterness” springs up to cause trouble and defile many. And in Proverbs 14:30 (ESV), we’re told a calm, content heart brings life to the body — but envy is described as something that literally rots the bones.
A root grows quietly before it ever breaks the surface. Left unchecked, it doesn’t just affect you — it spreads to the people around you, too.
Here’s the freedom in this: forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to spend time with the person who hurt you. It just means you stop letting them poison your body. Releasing them sets your heart — and your health — free.
Healing isn’t only physical. It’s emotional and spiritual just as much. 💛
If this hit home, save it for the next time bitterness or jealousy creeps in, and share it with someone who needs this reminder today.

Your cortisol isn’t broken. Your life might just be really hard right now.
And sometimes — it’s both.
Whether it’s a habit that’s been quietly working against you, a season of trials you didn’t ask for, or a toxic load your body is silently fighting… cortisol dysregulation rarely has just one cause.
That’s exactly why I don’t believe in band-aid fixes.
Swipe through to see the 6 things that could be keeping your cortisol out of balance — including one that almost nobody in the wellness space talks about (slide 5 👀).
If you’ve been exhausted, wired at midnight, carrying weight you can’t explain, waking at 3 AM, or just feeling off in a way you can’t put your finger on — this is for you.
Your body isn’t failing you. It’s communicating with you.
And during the hard seasons? Give yourself grace. But also give your body what it needs most: sunlight, deep sleep, and the minerals that stress strips away faster than almost anything else.
Save this post. You’ll want to come back to it.
⬇️ Comment CORTISOL below and I’ll send you information on deeper root cause testing — so we can find all the reasons your cortisol is out of balance, not just the obvious ones.

The drink your teen is obsessing over right now could be quietly damaging their liver — and most parents have no idea.

Fatty liver disease in children and teens is at an all-time high, and the numbers keep climbing. And no, this isn’t just a problem for kids who are overweight or obese. Thin kids get it too. That’s the part that shocks most people.

And it’s not just fatty liver — blood sugar dysregulation in kids and teens is rising at an alarming rate, significantly increasing their risk of developing type 2 diabetes at younger and younger ages.

One of the biggest drivers of both? The overconsumption of sugar — especially in liquid form. And those trendy “dirty sodas” that are having a major moment right now — they’re not helping.

Here’s why liquid sugar is especially problematic: without protein and fat present, there is nothing to blunt the glycemic response or slow gastric emptying — meaning fructose is delivered rapidly to the liver with no buffer. The liver can only process so much fructose at a time, and when that threshold is chronically exceeded, the liver essentially hits its limit and has nowhere to put that excess sugar — so it converts it directly into fat. That fat accumulates in liver cells, and over time this becomes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

And it’s happening in kids who look completely healthy.

This isn’t about fear or perfection. Of course our kids can have sugar — that’s not the message here. But as parents, we have to be paying attention to how much and in what form they’re getting it. A 32 oz dirty soda with flavored syrup and sweetened cream delivers a massive fructose load with zero macronutrient buffering — spiking blood sugar and overwhelming the liver in one sitting.

Small habits, repeated daily, add up to real consequences.

You don’t have to be the food police. But you do get to be informed. 🤍

Last summer, I developed Lyme symptoms — and when I sat with it, I wasn’t shocked.

I had walked through one of the hardest seasons of my life. Real hurt. The kind that settles into your body whether you want it to or not. And when the heart carries that kind of weight, the immune system feels it too. That’s not weakness — that’s biology. Emotional pain creates physiological change, and a suppressed immune system becomes an open door.

Lyme found me in a vulnerable season. But it didn’t get the final word. (I also never said “I have Lyme. I would say my body is fighting off Lyme bacteria. As I never want to take something on as my identity.)

As a functional medicine practitioner, I’ve seen this pattern more times than I can count — in my clients and now in myself. Healing isn’t just physical. It’s addressing what your body has been holding.

And the good news? Lyme disease is not a death sentence.

When we get to the root — supporting immune function, calming the nervous system, and addressing what the body has been carrying emotionally and physically — healing becomes possible. Real healing. Not just managing symptoms, but restoring the terrain so your body can do what it was created to do.

Most people never hear that. They’re handed a diagnosis and left with fear and no roadmap. But healing from Lyme is possible — and more people need to know that. That’s why I’m here. To give you the hope and the truth that the conventional model often leaves out.

👉 Go back one reel for my Tick Bite Protocol — prevention tools you’ll want before you need them. And if you already have Lyme or its co-infections, I would love to help you heal. It will be a journey — but you can heal.

Share this so others can have hope too. 🤍

🚨 Gatorade just announced they’re removing artificial dyes from some of their core flavors — Fruit Punch, Lemon-Lime, and Orange are up first, with the transition to fruit and vegetable-based colors expected later in 2026.

As a mom of 3 athletic boys, I’m genuinely grateful for steps in the right direction — this stuff matters. Personally, I prefer giving my boys electrolytes without all the added sugar, but I’m still so thankful this change is happening as it shows more & more families want dye free options.

That said, the change only applies to select products, not the entire Gatorade lineup — and that’s worth noting.
Comment below — how do you feel about this positive change? 👇

Allergy season doesn’t have to wreck you — and I’m done pretending Zyrtec is the only option. 🌿
As a functional medicine RD, these are the four oils + one supplement I come back to every single spring with my clients:
🍋 Lemon – supports lymphatic drainage and helps your body clear histamine naturally
💜 Lavender – nature’s antihistamine — calms inflammation from the inside out
🌿 Peppermint – instant sinus and airway opener (seriously, just inhale it)
🌬️ Breathe Blend – promotes clear breathing and eases seasonal respiratory discomfort
💊 D-Hist by Ortho Molecular – this is the supplement I trust for real histamine support. Quercetin, bromelain, NAC and stinging nettle all in one — this is what I recommend to clients before they reach for an OTC antihistamine.
Ideally? We’d get to the ROOT cause of why your immune system is overreacting in the first place. Two of the most common culprits I see in clients are parasites and mold exposure — both of which can drive chronic histamine issues that look exactly like “just bad allergies.” But while you’re doing that deeper work, you still need support for right now. 👇
The goal isn’t to mask symptoms — it’s to support your body so it stops overreacting in the first place. That’s root cause thinking. 🙌
👇 Comment ALLERGIES below and I’ll send you the discounted links to all four oils AND the D-Hist supplement so you’re ready before peak season hits.
Save this for when the sneezing starts. 🤧

It is not ideal to drink coffee on an empty stomach in the mornings.☕️ Why?

☕️It increases cortisol, which affects weight & hormonal balance
☕️It could spike your blood sugar. A study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that drinking black coffee on an empty stomach first thing in the morning significantly impaired people's blood sugar control. The ability to regulate blood sugar levels reduces your risk of metabolic conditions like diabetes & heart disease. People who ate breakfast beforehand did not experience a surge in blood glucose.
☕️It can cause digestive issues.
☕️Can increase anxiety.
☕️ For people with adrenal fatigue or mitochondria dysfunction (many have this & don’t realize it), caffeine can cause your adrenals to overwork to make more cortisol and burn out your glands.
☕️For people with thyroid issues, because adrenal health and thyroid go hand in hand, you especially don’t need to drink caffeine on an empty stomach.

So what’s the solution?
EAT BREAKFAST FIRST! 🍳🥑
Eat breakfast (something with protein). THEN drink your coffee.

Who is going to start eating something before you drink coffee from now on?🙋🏼‍♀️
