Sorry Starbucks, but homemade is always better - in my opinion! ☕️

I’ve been on a big Chai Latte kick lately and I know you’re going to love this recipe!

Ingredients:
• black tea
• Chai spice blend (keep reading)
• maple syrup or other natural sweetener
• milk of choice
• vanilla extract

Chai Spice Blend
• 2 TBLSPS ground cinnamon
• 2 tsps ground cardamom
• 2 tsps ground ginger
• 1 tsp ground cloves
• 1 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1 tsp ground allspice
• 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Mix spices together and store in airtight container. Use about 1 tsp per cup of chai tea.

Make the concentrate by bringing 1 black tea bag, 1 tsp Chai spice blend and 1 cup water to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes then let steep another 5 minutes or so. Remove the tea bag and stir in 1 Tblsp maple syrup and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. Pour into a mug then prepare the milk.

Heat 1/4 cup of your favorite milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm but not boiling. Use a milk frother to create a creamy foam. Pour into your mug and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.

This is also so good iced! Just allow the chai concentrate to cool to room temperature then pour over ice and add milk. I will also skip the black tea entirely if I don’t want any caffeine and it’s still delicious!
