September 3, 2026, marks the 44th anniversary of the signing of the Medicare Hospice Benefit into law. Since its implementation in 1983, the Medicare Hospice Benefit has transformed the delivery of end-of-life care in the United States. Main Street Hospice (formerly Americare Hospice) has been serving our communities for 32 years - since hospice was in its early years of existence! At Main Street Hospice we are honored to have a part in caring for individuals and their families during the end of life. Oh what a fun day it was for Main Street! Today we were in two places at once - Denise, our Clinical Director was at Home Instead’s Luau. Mariah, our Volunteer Coordinator, Christina, one of our RNs/Volunteer and Doug, our CFO/Coowner attended the Senior Summit put on by Johnson County Senior Services.
