Clayton Wright Bushman

Clayton W Bushman, 95, passed peacefully on May 31, 2026, at Merrimack County Nursing Home.

Born in Franklin on November 30, 1930, to Gladys E Bushman and Harry Bushman. Clayton graduated from Franklin High School in 1948 and then enlisted in the US Air Force. He served 3 years in the Korean war.

After returning home he worked for the New England Telephone Co for over 30 years. He was involved in the Franklin Outing Club, a Free Mason for 60 years, President of the American Baptist Churches of NH/VT Chapters, a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. He worked at the Franklin Cemetery for years after his retirement. He was an extraordinary 'jack of all trades, not a job he couldn't tackle; plumbing, electrical, construction, and landscaping were just a few. He was a family man through and through.

Whether it be sports that his children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren were involved in, he was there. For years he was a staple at the local football field well after his children had grown up and the Veterans Memorial ski area where he taught his children how to ski. Every sport he took on himself in early years included a cigar in his mouth...skiing, skating, water skiing, marching in the local parades.

You could always spot him a mile away. Up until his death if you asked him how he was, he would always (well most times) say he was "EXCELLENT".

He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine Ellis Bushman, daughter Marjorie Bushman, sister Jean H Bushman, brothers Roger Bushman, John H Bushman and Norman Bushman.

He is survived by his 3 children, Kandi Fallon (Daniel), Carol Bowen (Dale) and Daniel Bushman. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at Peabody place, Merrimack County nursing home and Franklin VNA services for his care.

Services will be held Saturday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Sanbornton Baptist Church, 17 Church Lane, Sanbornton, NH. Family and friends are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent Franklin VNA Chestnut St, Franklin, NH

A private burial will be held at Franklin cemetery. Thibeault-Neun. Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting with arrangements, and an online guest book is available at neunfuneralhomes.com

William James Benwell

William James Benwell (Bill/Billy), 65, of Tilton, NH passed away on 04/19/26, after a long battle with cancer, leaving behind a space in the hearts of those who loved him that can never be filled.

Born on 08/05/1960 in Franklin, NH he grew into a man defined not just by what he did, but by who he was. He was a steady presence, a source of strength, and someone whose love ran deep.

To his family, he was everything. A devoted husband to Deb, he built a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering support. He was a husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose guidance, support, and sense of humor will live on in the lives he shaped. Bill had a way of making people feel at ease. He will be remembered for his hard-working ethics, stubbornness, determination in getting things done, his inability to sit still, sense of humor, devotion to family and friends and how he loved his dogs, Jasper and Lukas. He found joy in hanging out by the pool on hot summer days, having campfires in the back yard, having big back-yard cookouts, camping and riding his side by side up in Stewartstown with his family. Also enjoyed building projects with his brother, Booney. Those simple pleasures became lasting memories for the people who shared them with him.

Many aunts, uncles, newphew, nieces, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by father Robert Benwell Sr. All of his grandparents.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable loss, his life remains a lasting gift. His love, his lessons, and the memories he created will continue to guide and comfort those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St, Northfield, NH 03276 at 1pm-3pm.
