🌿 Happy Labor Day Weekend! 🌿

A little reminder: rest is productive, too. 🤍

As we head into the long weekend, take a moment to slow down, step away from the to-do list, and make space for the things that fill your cup—whether that’s time with family, getting outside, playing, laughing, or just resting ✨

Wishing you joy-filled Labor Day Weekend! 🧡💙

August is National Wellness Monthđź’•

A simple reminder that caring for ourselves matters, too.

For clinicians, it can be easy to spend so much time holding space for others that we forget to check in with ourselves. But rest, boundaries, connection, and time to recharge are not extras—they’re part of staying well and showing up fully for the people we care for.

And this reminder is for everyone: you don’t have to wait until you’re burned out to take care of yourself. 🤍

This month, take a moment to ask yourself: What do I need right now?

Calling all clinicians! Join Paris Goodyear-Brown, PhD, LCSW, RPT-S, CPC, EMDRIA Approved Consultant as she explores one of the most important aspects of therapeutic work: the intentional use of self. As the new school year begins and life grows busier, this workshop offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and deepen your clinical practice. Together, participants will explore countertransference, the parts of self that emerge in the playroom, and how consciously curated congruence can foster safer, more attuned relationships with the children and families we serve. We hope you’ll join her for a morning of reflection, learning, and professional growth. ✨

All proceeds from this workshop will go toward supporting the Harris family.❤️

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. True mental health support means honoring, validating, and addressing the diverse lived experiences of racial and ethnic minority communities.

This month—and every month—let’s continue advocating for equitable, culturally responsive mental health care so everyone has the opportunity to heal and thrive 🤍🌱

Dr. Paris Goodyear-Brown recently joined HealthQ to talk about a question many parents ask: When is childhood anxiety something that needs professional support?

They discussed three key signs that can help determine when challenging behaviors may call for counseling—and how families can navigate that decision.

✨ Meet Kait! ✨

We are so happy to have Kait on our team! She is a Post-Master’s Clinician here at Nurture House! 💙

Kait earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University in 2025, where she specialized in Play Therapy. Her passion for helping children began while working as a Teacher’s Assistant at an Early Childhood Center in St. Louis, where she discovered the transformative power of play as a child’s natural language.

Today, Kait also serves as an Associate Behavioral Health Specialist at a local Psychiatric Hospital, working with children and adolescents ages 5–17. Through both clinical settings, she is dedicated to creating safe, accepting spaces where children feel seen, heard, and free to express themselves.

When she’s not supporting children and families, you’ll likely find Kait writing, blasting her favorite music, experimenting in the kitchen like she’s competing on Iron Chef America, or catching a well-deserved nap.
Again we are so happy to have Kait apart of the Nurture House family—we’re so excited for the compassion, creativity, and care she brings to our clients! 💛
