At Williamson Health, investing in nurses means investing in the future of care in Williamson County. 💙

From student externships and clinical partnerships to our Nurse Residency Program, we are proud to help create meaningful pathways for the next generation of compassionate caregivers.

In this recent Williamson Herald column, Ricky Yates, RN, MBA, Williamson Health Chief Nursing Officer, shares how Williamson Health is supporting nursing students, early-career nurses and the dedicated professionals caring for our community today.

We are especially proud to celebrate Amanda Whitman, BSN, RN, BHCN, who was named Williamson Health’s 2026 Nurse of the Year, along with 16 other outstanding finalists recognized during National Nurses Week.

When we invest in nurses, we invest in the health of our entire region.

What if a few simple steps could help save a life? ❤️

During National AED and CPR Awareness Week, we’re revisiting this important video with Williamson Health EMS Chief Michael Wallace to help our community feel more confident in an emergency.

CPR and AED use may seem intimidating, but you don’t have to be a medical professional to make a difference. When cardiac arrest happens outside of a medical facility, quick action can help give someone their best chance at survival.

Take a few minutes to learn how to use an AED and what to do in an emergency. You never know when this knowledge could help save a life.

When every second mattered, our community’s first responders acted as one. 💙

On May 13, the Children’s Emergency Care Alliance of Tennessee presented the Region Five Star of Life Award to a local team whose coordinated response helped save the life of off-duty Franklin Police Detective Troy Stephenson.

After Detective Stephenson experienced sudden chest pain and dizziness while working out at the police gym last November, a seamless chain of survival began. Williamson County Emergency Communications coordinated the response as Williamson Health EMS, Franklin Police and Franklin Fire quickly came together to provide lifesaving care.

Just moments before arriving at Williamson Medical Center, Detective Stephenson suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Paramedics Dillon Hughes and Sam Fisher immediately began high-quality CPR and defibrillation, successfully restoring his heartbeat before he reached the emergency room. He was then taken directly to Williamson Health’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab for specialized care.

Today, Detective Stephenson has made a full recovery and is back on duty serving our community.

This Star of Life Award is more than recognition of one event. It represents the daily partnership between the first responders across our county who stand ready to serve, protect and save lives.

Please join us in congratulating Williamson Health EMS, Franklin Police Department, Franklin Fire Department and Williamson County Emergency Communications on this well-deserved honor. 👏

It is National CPR Awareness Week — a reminder that knowing what to do in a cardiac emergency can help save a life. ❤️

Most people hesitate to help because they’re afraid of doing it wrong — or think CPR always means mouth-to-mouth.

But hands-only CPR is simple, effective and something anyone can do.

In this video, Williamson Health EMS breaks it down into three easy steps so you can feel more confident taking action when someone is experiencing cardiac arrest and every second counts.

You don’t need a certification to make a difference — you just need your hands.

👉 Watch, learn and share to help us build a stronger chain of survival in our community.

It was a sea of pink at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park as we celebrated 75 years of the Franklin Rodeo! 💗

On Thursday, May 14, Williamson Health’s Turner-Dugas Breast Health Center was honored during Tough Enough to Wear Pink night, greeting the community with smiles, pink goodies and a shared commitment to breast health awareness.

Between the barrel racing and bull riding, the arena paused for a special moment as Rebecca Baskin, M.D., Jared Slater, M.D., local survivors and Williamson Health Foundation representatives joined together for a $10,000 check presentation from the Franklin Rodeo.

This meaningful partnership helps ensure that breast cancer patients in our community receive the care, support and resources they need right here at home.

We want to thank the Franklin Noon Rotary Club and all the fans who showed up in pink to support breast health awareness. Whether we’re at the rodeo or in the clinic, our team is here for you with world-class care and a compassionate heart.

June is Cancer Survivors Month, a time to honor the strength, resilience and healing journeys of survivors in our community. 💗

Through Operation Pink Chairs, the Williamson Health Foundation supports patients recovering from breast cancer surgery by providing a complimentary 4-week recliner reservation to help make recovery more comfortable at home. Each chair is delivered, sanitized and placed wherever it’s needed so patients can focus on rest and healing during recovery.

We are grateful to our community partner, Head Springs Depot, for helping make this program possible through storage, sanitation and delivery of these chairs.

“Our Community. Our Mission.” 💙

The second commercial in our new brand campaign is inspired by something we hear often at Williamson Health — that the care provided here can lead to lasting connections between our staff and the patients and families they serve.

This storyline highlights that meaningful bond through the eyes of Susan, one of our very own Williamson Health nurses in our Perinatal Services (OB/NICU) department, and reflects the relationships that can begin during some of life’s most important moments.

At Williamson Health, our mission goes beyond providing exceptional care. It’s about showing up for our community with compassion, building trust and being part of the moments that matter most.

Watch the second commercial in our “Our Community. Our Mission.” brand campaign and help us celebrate the team members who make Williamson Health so special.

Women’s bodies have unique nutritional needs through every stage of life — from adolescence and pregnancy to menopause and beyond.

“Our bodies are different from men’s, so we have different nutritional needs,” said Melanie Parnell, RD, LDN, a registered dietitian with Williamson Health. “Women’s bodies are designed to build another human, so we have a little more fat, a little less muscle and different hormonal needs.”

Melanie shares practical, realistic tips to help women support their health through every season of life.

Nutritional needs aren’t one-size-fits-all — especially for women, whose bodies change significantly across life stages.
