⭐️ OVER THE MUSCLE
The implant is placed behind the breast tissue but in front of the chest muscle.• Typically less discomfort & quicker recovery• No movement of the implant when flexing the chest muscle• Can be a great option when there’s enough natural breast tissue for coverage

⭐️ UNDER THE MUSCLE
The implant is placed partially behind the chest muscle.• Provides additional implant coverage• Can create a smooth, natural-looking transition• Often preferred when breast tissue is thinner• Recovery may involve more initial tightness or soreness

One of the most common questions we hear is: “Do I need a consultation with our office before Mohs surgery?” 🤔
In most cases, the answer is no! Patients are typically referred to us directly by their dermatologist for reconstruction after Mohs surgery, so a separate cosmetic surgery consultation usually isn’t necessary beforehand.
