Meet Our Staff!
We invite you to meet Marilyn, one of our Systems Navigators. We asked Marilyn to share why she loves working at MHA.

"I'll never forget a single mom of three who turned setbacks into success. Today, she's a certified doula, licensed driver, and thriving alongside her children. Watching her rebuild her confidence and create new opportunities for her family has been incredibly rewarding."

August is National Make-A-Will Month, when working on your will, consider legacy giving.

Including MHA in your estate plans – such as your will or trust, or making MHA a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy - can be a simple way to make a significant impact on our community’s mental wellness for many years to come. Contact your attorney or tax advisor to see if these contributions are right for you.

Systems Navigation helps students within FCPS at no cost with multiple or intensive needs related to behavior, development, school, health, or mental health to navigate the services available in Frederick County.

Systems Navigators identify the needs and strengths of each family and then address barriers to accessing resources and services, working collaboratively with other agencies to meet each family’s unique needs including:
• Coordination of services
• Support
• Information and referral
• Advocacy
• Empowerment
• Follow up

Services are provided at no cost to the family if referred by a CASS Coordinator. Referrals can also be self-referred. Navigators stay connected with families until the stress is reduced and the need is met.

Thank you to Unrivaled Iron Gym for supporting MHA through this year's Frederick Fitness Games!

With 18 incredible teams competing, the event brought athletes together in support of mental health while showcasing determination, teamwork, and a passion for fitness. Congratulations to all of the participants and winners, especially MHA Board Member Ashleigh Rossi on her outstanding performance!

At Unrivaled, fitness is about more than physical strength; it's about building a community that values resilience, connection, and mental wellness. We're grateful for our continued partnership and shared commitment to making mental health a priority.

A special thank you to Marc and Blake for being passionate mental health advocates and for all you do to strengthen our community. Together, we're proving that strong bodies and strong minds go hand in hand.
