Stauffer Funeral Homes P.A.

Stauffer Funeral Homes P.A. Family-Owned and Operated Funeral Home and Crematory in Frederick and Carroll Counties in Maryland.

We know that a funeral home with deep roots in the community, and relationships with local family and friends, can best help those who are grieving. That is why we are still family owned and operated, local, and continue to be dedicated to the community. Today, with the addition of my son, George Stauffer II and his wife Courtney, whom are both licensed funeral directors, we carry our tradition of service into our second generation. This assures that families who trust us with their funeral arrangements will continue to receive flawless service and a response to their every need. Our family was here to serve your family in the past, and we continue to be here for you in the present and into the future.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost to overdose and hold space for the families, friends, and communities who continue to grieve.

Behind every statistic is a person who was deeply loved, a story that mattered, and a family forever changed.

Before posting about someone's death on social media, pause.

Always make sure the family has shared the news first. While your intentions may be heartfelt, announcing a death before loved ones have had the opportunity to inform family and friends can cause additional pain during an already difficult time.

Meet Mike Mummert, one of the dedicated members of our support staff who helps make sure the families we serve are always cared for with compassion and attention.

Before joining Stauffer Funeral Homes, Mike spent 39 years as an educator and coach. His years of guiding, encouraging and supporting others are just a few of the reasons he brings so much commitment to his work here.

We’re grateful to have people like Mike on our team—people who are deeply dedicated to serving others and to the community they call home.

After the loss of a spouse, there are many important financial steps to take during an already difficult time.

Be sure to contact life insurance companies and other financial institutions to make claims on policies or assets where you are listed as a beneficiary. You may also need to roll over retirement accounts, such as IRAs, into your name.

To complete these steps, you will typically need a copy of the death certificate, policy numbers, and other account information.

Taking things one step at a time can help make the process a little more manageable.

Ashley, one of our funeral directors, and Willie, a crematory operator, have a son with a big dream—he wants to become a priest someday.

Yesterday, he got to step into that dream for a day with Fr. Matt Buening at Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Frederick MD, experiencing “A Day as a Pastor.”

This special opportunity was part of a silent auction at the St. John Regional Catholic School Gala last spring, and George and Courtney were delighted to purchase it for him.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this unforgettable day possible—and we can’t wait to see where Grayson's journey leads.
