I'm excited to be attending S.H.E. Week 2026!

Celebrating its eighth year, this empowering event features inspiring speakers at Conference Day, the S.H.E. Pitch competition, the SHERO Awards, and much more.

The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Committee hosts this event each August. The committee's mission is to empower and develop women through education, networking, mentoring, and partnerships and to promote opportunities for all women throughout Frederick County. S.H.E. Week is an extension of this mission and centers around the concept of Strength, Heart and Equality (S.H.E.).

This weekend, I had the privilege of providing resources and support to grieving families at the annual The Compassionate Friends/USA conference.

I had the opportunity to experience the conference in two meaningful roles: as a child psychologist supporting families and as a bereaved sibling who understands this journey personally.

The annual conference brings together bereaved parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members to find connection, hope, and healing. Through educational sessions and shared experiences, attendees are reminded that they do not have to navigate grief alone. Many leave with lifelong friendships formed through the profound understanding that comes from meeting others who have experienced the death of a child, sibling, or grandchild.

It was an incredible honor to be in the presence of more than 800 grieving individuals, witnessing the strength, compassion, and resilience of this community. I am deeply grateful to everyone who shared their stories, supported one another, and allowed me to be part of this meaningful weekend. 💙🦋
