Located in the heart of Fredericksburg, VA, Tree of Life Midwifery and Birth Center serves clients in and around the Fredericksburg region with traditional, compassionate, and individualized midwifery care in out-of-hospital settings. Comprised of two licensed midwives, Leah Paul CPM LM and Lori Murafka-Orme CPM LM, Tree of Life Midwifery is pleased to offer both homebirth and birth center options.

We are thrilled to share we are now able to offer nitrous oxide to our clients at Tree of Life!

Nitrous oxide, commonly called "laughing gas", is a safe and effective anxiolytic and analgesic agent that is mixed with oxygen. Nitrous oxide is used during procedures and treatments to help make you feel more comfortable. It is considered safe to use during labor and childbirth, provided the consumer has no pre-existing contraindications.

This option is available for an additional fee, and may not be billable to insurance companies. Clients planning to utilize nitrous oxide should know it is only offered at the birth center, and cannot travel to a home for a birth.
