Good morning. The memorial service will be held tomorrow at 10:30 AM at Fredericksburg International Christian Church, located at 1915 Charles St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Please be advised that the church is situated in a residential area within downtown Fredericksburg, and parking availability is limited. In the event that street parking is unavailable, alternative parking options are provided. The first option is the Quarles Petroleum Office, located at 1701 Fall Hill Ave., Fredericksburg, VA 22401, which is approximately a 3-minute walk to FICC, two blocks directly from Charles St. (See picture below for visual reference).

Additionally, parking is available at Common Ground church, located at 1501 Washington Ave., Fredericksburg, VA 22401. For guests utilizing this option, Bro. Carey Smith, a member of FICC, will provide transportation to and from the church, commencing at 9:30 AM. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. LYDIA ARPON GARALDE
August 20, 1958 – September 8, 2025

Lydia A. Garalde, 67, of Fredericksburg, Virginia entered her eternal rest in the Lord on September 8, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life reflected love, faith, and service.

Lydia was a retired community social worker in the Philippines. She moved to the US in 2017, and found joy in the simple but meaningful tasks of life—cooking meals that brought her family together, keeping a clean and welcoming home, and tending to her plants where she enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation. Through these daily acts of love, she taught her family the value of hard work, humility, and serving others.

Her greatest devotion, however, was to her faith. A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, she was deeply involved in her church, attending Sunday School and Bible study faithfully and serving as an active member of Fredericksburg International Christian Church. She poured her heart into both her family and her church family, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or share her testimony of God’s goodness.

Lydia leaves behind her children, Roy (wife Edith), Rommel (wife Emily), Rodel, Randy, and Raquel; grandchildren, Roselyn, Royeth, Robi, John, Julia, Iya, and Jennyrose; and sister, Jeanette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Diego and Angela Arpon; her siblings, Wilfredo and Susan Arpon; and husband, Domingo Garalde.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
