Quick question โ when did you last have your hearing tested? ๐
If you canโt remember, youโre not alone. Most people wait an average of 7 to 10 years after first noticing hearing difficulty before doing anything about it.
Hereโs what the guidelines actually recommend:
๐ Ages 18โ40: Every 10 years (to establish a baseline)
๐ Ages 40โ60: Every 3โ5 years
๐ Ages 60+: Every year
๐ Already wearing hearing aids: Annually โ your hearing changes, and your devices need to keep up
And donโt wait for the "scheduled" time if:
โ๏ธ Youโve noticed any change in your hearing
โ๏ธ You have tinnitus (ringing, buzzing)
โ๏ธ You work around loud noise regularly
โ๏ธ Someone in your life has said something about your hearing
The evaluation itself takes about an hour, is completely painless, and tells you exactly where you stand. Most people are relieved just to have a real answer.
