**They understand more than they can say. **

One of the most common things parents tell us is:

*"I don't think they're understanding me."*

But then we ask a few questions.

Can they find their favorite toy when you ask for it?

Can they bring you their shoes when it's time to go out?

Do they look toward the kitchen when you mention a snack?

Do they run to the door when they hear a familiar person is coming?

And suddenly the answer becomes clear.

They understand much more than you realize.

Sometimes parents focus so much on the words they aren't hearing that they miss all the understanding that's already there.

The truth is, language develops in layers.

Before children can use words, they spend a long time learning what words mean.

They're listening.

They're watching.

They're making connections.

They're learning every single day.

Think about it this way.

Before a child can say "ball," they need to understand what a ball is.

Before they can ask for juice, they need to understand what juice means.

Before they can answer questions, they need to understand the language being used around them.

Understanding comes first.

Words often come later.

**Just because you aren't hearing many words yet doesn't mean learning isn't happening.**

That doesn't mean you should ignore concerns if something feels off.

Trust your instincts.

Ask questions.

Seek support when needed.

But don't forget to celebrate what your child is already doing.

Because every new word is built on thousands of moments of listening, learning, and understanding.

**We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who understand the hopes, worries, and questions that come with raising a child.**

Think of us as part of your village.

We're here to answer questions, celebrate progress, and support your family every step of the way.

Because you don't have to figure it all out alone.

Not talking yet doesn't mean they have nothing to say.

Sometimes parents tell us:

"They don't really talk yet."

But then we start talking about their child.

And suddenly we hear about all the ways they're already communicating.

They bring you their favorite toy.

They point to what they want.

They take your hand and lead you somewhere.

They smile when they're proud.

They cry when they're frustrated.

They look for you when they need comfort.

They communicate every single day.

Just not always with words.

As parents, it's easy to focus on the milestone that hasn't happened yet.

The first words.

The longer sentences.

The conversations you've been waiting to hear.

And those things are important.

But communication begins long before speech.

Every gesture.

Every look.

Every attempt to connect.

Every effort to be understood.

Those are all meaningful steps on the journey.

Your child has been finding ways to communicate with you all along.

That doesn't mean you should ignore concerns if something feels off.

Trust your instincts, ask questions, seek support when needed.

But don't forget to recognize the progress that is already happening.

Because every child starts somewhere.

And every new skill is built on the ones that came before it.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who understand how much parents worry, hope, and wonder about their child's development.

Think of us as part of your village.

We're here to answer questions, celebrate progress, and support your family every step of the way.

The voice in your child's head will sound a lot like yours.

Think about that for a moment.

One day, your child will face something difficult.

A challenge at school, a disappointment, a mistake.

A moment when they aren't sure they can do it and in that moment, a voice will show up inside their head.

The question is:

What will that voice say?

Will it say:

"I'm not good enough."

"I can't do this."

"Everyone else is better than me."

Or will it say:

"Keep trying."

"You've done hard things before."

"It's okay to make mistakes."

"I believe in you."

As parents, we don't always realize how much our words matter.

Not just the words we say when things are going well.

But the words we use when our children are struggling.

When they're frustrated.

When they're learning something new.

When they're feeling discouraged.

Because long before children learn to believe in themselves, they borrow our belief in them.

They listen, they watch and little by little, our voice becomes part of their inner voice.

As moms ourselves, we've seen how powerful encouragement can be.

Sometimes a child doesn't need someone to solve the problem.

Sometimes they simply need someone to remind them that they're capable.

The words you speak today may become the confidence your child carries tomorrow.

So be patient.

Be encouraging.

Be kind.

Not because you're trying to be perfect.

But because your child is listening more than you know.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

Think of us as part of your village.

A partner you can lean on and a safe place to ask questions.

Because raising confident, resilient children is something we can do together.

You are your child's safe place.

Have you ever noticed that after a long day, a bad moment, or a frustrating experience, your child comes running straight to you?

Not because you have all the answers or because you can fix everything.

But because you make them feel safe.

When children are overwhelmed, scared, frustrated, tired, or struggling to find the words they need, they look for comfort.

They look for connection and they look for the person who makes the world feel a little less scary.

For many children, that's you!

Sometimes parents worry that they're not doing enough.

That they should be more patient, more knowledgeable, more prepared.

But what children often need most isn't a perfect parent.

They need someone who keeps showing up.

Someone who listens, who hugs them after a hard day.

Someone who celebrates the little victories and sits beside them through the difficult moments.

As moms ourselves, we've seen how much love parents pour into their children every single day.

The late nights, the worries, the appointments and the endless questions.

The quiet moments when you wonder if you're doing the right thing.

The fact that you care this much already says more than you realize.

Your child doesn't need perfection.

They need love, they need patience.

They need encouragement and most of all, they need to know they have a safe place to land when life feels difficult.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

And just as you are your child's safe place, we hope to be part of your support system too.

Think of us as part of your village, a partner you can lean on and a safe place to ask questions.

Because you shouldn't have to navigate this journey alone.

The little wins matter.

Sometimes we get so focused on the big goals that we forget to notice how far our children have already come.

Maybe it was a new word, new food or they made eye contact.
Maybe they asked for help instead of getting frustrated.
Maybe they sat through an activity they would have walked away from a month ago.

To someone else, those things might seem small.
To a parent, they're everything.
Because progress doesn't always look like giant leaps.
More often, it shows up in tiny moments.
Moments that are easy to miss if you're only looking at how far there is still to go.

As moms ourselves, we know how easy it is to focus on what isn't happening yet.

The skills they're still working on, the goals they haven't reached or the things you wish were easier.

But today, we want to remind you to take a moment and look at what has improved.
Look at the effort, at the courage and look at the growth.

The little wins matter because they eventually become the big wins.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

Think of us as part of your village.
We're here to celebrate the victories, answer the questions, and support you through the challenges.
Because every step forward deserves to be recognized.

Stop comparing your child to everyone else's child.

It's hard not to do it.

You go to a birthday party.

You watch other children talking, playing, answering questions, trying new foods, making friends.

And before you know it, that little voice shows up.

"Should my child be doing that?"

"Are we behind?"

"Why does this seem easier for everyone else?"

The truth is, every parent has these thoughts at some point.

But what you don't see are the struggles happening behind closed doors.

The speech therapy appointments.

The feeding challenges.

The worries that keep parents awake at night.

The tears shed in private.

Every child is working on something and every family is carrying something.

Your child's worth is not measured by what another child can do.

As moms ourselves, we've seen how much pressure parents put on themselves.

The comparing.

The worrying.

The feeling that they should somehow have all the answers.

The truth is, you don't have to figure it all out by yourself.

Whether you have concerns, questions, or simply need someone to help you understand what's going on, we're here to support you every step of the way.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

Think of us as part of your village.

A partner you can lean on.

A safe place to ask questions.

Because no parent should have to carry those worries alone.

Your child doesn't need to be like everyone else.

Your child simply needs the opportunity to become the best version of themselves.

My child isn't giving me a hard time.
My child is having a hard time.

That simple shift in perspective can change everything.

As parents, we've all had those moments.

The meltdown in the grocery store.

The tears over something that seems small.

The frustration that comes out of nowhere.

And sometimes, if we're being honest, we think:

"Why are they making this so difficult?"

But what if they're not trying to give you a hard time?

What if they're having a hard time?

For some children, big emotions come from big feelings they don't yet know how to express.

They may be overwhelmed.

They may be struggling to communicate what they need.

They may not have the words to tell you they're frustrated, scared, confused, tired, or anxious.

And when children can't express what's happening inside, those feelings often come out as behavior.

This doesn't mean every tantrum is connected to speech or development.

But sometimes behavior is a child's way of communicating when words aren't enough.

And as moms ourselves, we know how exhausting those moments can be.

The guilt.

The second guessing.

The wondering if you're doing enough.

We are more than speech therapists. We're also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

Sometimes children don't need us to have all the answers.

Sometimes they simply need us to understand what they may be trying to say.

Just wait and see.

Sometimes that advice helps and sometimes it doesn’t.

If you’re a parent, you’ve probably heard it before.

“They’ll talk when they’re ready.”
“Every child is different.”
“Give it time.”

And honestly? Sometimes that’s true.

But deep down, some parents still feel like something just isn’t sitting right.

Maybe your child gets frustrated trying to communicate.
Maybe they understand everything but barely speak.
Maybe meals are stressful.
Maybe you keep comparing them to other kids and wondering if you’re overthinking it.

There’s nothing wrong with asking questions early.

Getting support or even just getting an evaluation does not mean something is “wrong” with your child.

It means you care enough to pay attention.

As moms ourselves, we know how hard it can be when everyone around you keeps saying, “just wait.”

Sometimes parents need reassurance.
Sometimes they need support.
And sometimes they simply need someone to listen.

Tantrum… or communication frustration?

As parents, we’ve all seen the meltdowns.

The crying, the yelling, throwing things.
That moment when your child is clearly upset, but you have no idea why.

And in those moments, it’s easy to think:

“Why are they acting like this?”
“Why does something so small turn into such a big reaction?”

But sometimes, it’s not about behavior.

Sometimes, it’s frustration.

Because imagine knowing what you want… but not being able to explain it.

Imagine trying to say something… and the words just won’t come.

For some children, big emotions can come from big communication struggles.

That doesn’t mean every tantrum is speech-related.

But if meltdowns happen often, especially around transitions, choices, asking for things, or trying to express needs, it may be worth taking a closer look.

And as moms ourselves, we understand how exhausting and emotional that can be.

The second guessing, the guilt.
The wondering if you’re doing something wrong.

We are more than speech therapists. We’re also experienced moms who truly care about helping your child thrive.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust that feeling.
