Meet the owners of Flex, coach Derek and Carla Steibel. Flex Barbell was started by Derek back in 2012 but was brought to Fremont in 2024.
Flex fitness takes the corporate out of the gym and builds a community of likeminded people who value health and fitness.
Carla and Derek continue to show by example just what it takes to live a healthier lifestyle and to be an active member of the Fremont community.

Flex Barbell is going to start Member of the Month (M.O.M) this August. Our M.O.M will be a person showing consistency, dedication, value community, and strive for improvement daily.
Our first member of the month is Preston. He has been a dedicated member of Flex for years and has shown vast improvement in CrossFit. He is a vital member of our gym community. When asked what he loves most about Flex he said he “loves everyone he works out with” and feels a sense of accomplishment and motivation to workout even when he doesn’t want to. Looking forward to seeing what you accomplish this month 💪🏽
