Childhood trauma doesn’t always stay in childhood.
It has a way of quietly shaping how we see ourselves, how we trust others, and how we show up in relationships as adults.
You might notice it as:
• Difficulty trusting or feeling safe with others
• Fear of abandonment or needing constant reassurance
• Struggling to set boundaries
• Feeling “too much” or “not enough” at the same time
• Repeating unhealthy relationship patterns
These aren’t character flaws — they are often protective responses that once helped you survive.
But what helped you survive then may be holding you back now.
The good news? Healing is possible.
Treatment often includes therapy, but for many individuals, medication can also play an important role. Medications such as antidepressants (like SSRIs), mood stabilizers, or medications for anxiety can help regulate mood, decrease reactivity, and improve overall emotional stability.
How long are medications needed?
That looks different for everyone. Some people benefit from short-term support (6–12 months), while others may need longer-term treatment depending on their symptoms and history. The goal is always to support your healing — not to keep you on medication longer than necessary.
At Integrated Minds, we take an individualized approach to care, helping you understand your patterns, rebuild your sense of self, and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Your past does not define your future. You deserve peace, connection, and a life that feels safe and meaningful.
If this resonates with you, you are not alone — and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
