August is National Eye Exam Month! 👁️
Even with 20/20 vision, routine eye exams are vital for your overall health. Many sight-threatening conditions (such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal tears) develop without pain or early symptoms.
Per the American Optometric Association, children and adults 65+ should be examined annually, while adults ages 18–64 should go every two years. If you have underlying health conditions or a family history of eye disease, annual exams are recommended.
