Dr Debra Torosian

Dr Debra Torosian I teach patients how to manage anxiety for a better surgical outcome. Welcome to my page! My oldest son suffered from autism. [email protected].

I am a dual practitioner, practicing both pediatric (and adult) anesthesia as well as pediatric functional/osteopathic/anthroposophic medicine. Since I was a child, I suffered from chronic pain, low energy, and frequent painful fibro flares. Through years of self-study, and trying many. many, many ways of healing, I have been able to regain my health, and my son's. I am passionate about sharing wh

at I learned and empowering mothers (and dads) to take ownership of their family's health. I am currently writing a book on how parents can make decisions for their children through a lens of warmth. I'd love for you to join me in this process. To sign up for my newsletter, go to www.drdebragambrell.com. About me: I am currently undergoing a 5 year anthroposophical medicine training program in Fair Oaks, California. Using this threefold approach to medicine looking at the body, soul and spirit, a deeper understanding of the patient can be reached to craft a treatment addressing more than just the physical. I am bringing up an anthroposophic medical center in Sonoma County to provide a place where many health-promoting providers can come together to provide comprehensive care for the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Email me if you would like to be included on the updates. l graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine (Now KUMBC), in 2003. I completed a Transitional Osteopathic Internship in Darby, PA, and completed an anesthesia residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. I then completed a pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in 2009 and remained on staff for two years as an Assistant Professor. In 2011, I relocated to Sonoma County with my family and currently resides in Sebastopol. I enjoy consulting with surgery centers to ensure the safety of the pediatric patients they treat and has been part of the Mending Kids International group in Haiti as well as Making Kids Smile with the Pediatric Dental Initiative in Windsor, CA.

"Life without risk precludes any real development: this is a question of freedom.

One hundred percent safety would leave no free space for the human being's development. "

"Submission to genetic programming can become quite dangerous, because it leaves us helpless. A person who cannot override genetic instructions when necessary is always vulnerable.

Instead of deciding how to act in terms of personal goals, he has to surrender to the things that his body has been programmed (or misprogrammed) to do.

One must particularly achieve control over instinctual drives to achieve a healthy independence of society, for as long as we respond predictably to what feels good and what feels bad, it is easy for others to exploit our preferences for their own ends."

FLOW:

"The state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience itself is so enjoyable that people will do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it."

The creation of consciousness is fully dependent on the breakdown of something.

It is within the destruction that consciousness emerges.

And it is of the substance that consciousness is created.

VERSE FOR AMERICA

May our feelings pe*****te

Into the center of our heart

And seek in love to unite

With human beings seeking the same goal–

With spirit beings who, full of grace,

Behold our earnest, heartfelt striving

And in beholding strengthen us

From realms of light

Illuminating our lives in love.

~ Rudolf Steiner “Verse for America”

Most of our existence is still unconscious.

Recognizing patterns is a good way to bring in consciousness, but how can patterns be seen by a child in the first place?

By connecting the child with natural patterns.

If children grow up being surrounded by natural patterns, these patterns imprint into their very etheric, into the very memory of the body. Pattern recognition by the body allows the body and mind to connect in a way that can not be done by thinking (or feeling) alone.

By giving children screens or other cooling gestures, it's harder to imprint natural patterns, even if they are exposed to them.

Patterns exist in the non-natural world and sometimes can be the place to start. Electronics have patterns, Facebook has patterns. Watch from afar how a wave passes through Facebook after a celebrity dies. This is a more laborious process and requires more mental effort, but watching for patterns in society can bring in more consciousness.

Or, just get out in nature.

Mineral Hot Springs

A great way to detox is a soak in hot springs, under high elevation sun, followed by a cold plunge.

Moving from hot to cold shuttles the blood towards to periphery and then to the center of the body, before finding a new set point of balance.

When the blood moves towards the surface in the hot water, the body absorbs some of the minerals through the skin.

During the cold plunge, the blood moves inward, keeping the internal organs warmer at the expense of skin warmth, but also brings the minerals inward.

Upon exiting the water and sitting in the sun, the skin absorbs the sun's rays, which stimulates the mitochondria to make internal water.

The internal water plus the reactive vasodilation of the blood serve to wash out the watershed areas of the blood, allowing a level of detox that is 100% in accordance with the body's ability to excrete the toxins via the kidneys, liver, lungs, and skin.

The mind becomes clearer, the soul more flexible.

With repeated practice, sleep becomes more restful.
