Today, election officials from Anoka County visited to help our long-term care residents participate in early voting. It was wonderful to see our residents take part in the voting process and exercise their right to have their voices heard. ✌️

Today staff and residents were encouraged to wear pink 💗 in support of breast cancer awareness month.

Our residents celebrated 🥳 October birthdays with delicious chocolate fudge cake and butter pecan ice cream! 😋 We also enjoyed reading the special birthday poem from Activity Connection and playing a few fun rounds of Modern Jeopardy!

Today we're celebrating the smiles that brighten our community! 🫶 Our residents had plenty of reasons to smile during our weekly Keynote Music Therapy session, and we captured some of those happy moments today! 🎶 🎵 😊

We kept the smiles going with a fun photo booth featuring silly props and an emoji-themed backdrop! 📷 😜

A perfect 👌 day to celebrate laughter, happiness, and all the little things that bring a smile to our faces! ❤️ 😁

🎃 Pumpkin Spice Day! 🍂

Today our residents celebrated 🥳 all things pumpkin spice with a step-by-step "blender recipe" demonstration! They watched as we made Pumpkin Spice Creamsicle Milkshakes, then got to sample the finished treats. 😋 Everyone agreed they were delicious! 😊

We also learned about the history of pumpkin spice from National Day Calendar, played a game of Pumpkin Spice "This or That," and wrapped up our afternoon working on some Halloween word searches together. 👻 😱

Today was just the beginning of our Halloween season, and we're looking forward to lots more seasonal festivities and Halloween memories in the weeks ahead! ❤️ 🎃 🪄

📖 From the Page to the Big Screen! 🎬

Our book club recently finished reading "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl, so today we brought the story to life with a showing of the film adaptation "W***y Wonka & the Chocolate Factory!" 🍫

We enjoyed themed refreshments-popcorn with NERDS Clusters candies mixed in, and homemade Fizzy Lifting Drinks! A fun afternoon of classic literature and movie magic! 🎩 🍿

🇩🇪 Prost to Oktoberfest! 🎉

This afternoon we celebrated our annual Oktoberfest with a festive spread of pretzel sticks with cheese sauce, pickles, apple cinnamon bars, and refreshing root b**r floats while watching travel documentaries about Munich Oktoberfest. 🍺 🥨 🍎

We also took a virtual trip to Bavaria with a special Oktoberfest slideshow from our Rendever VR program, learning about Bavarian culture, the history of the first Oktoberfest, traditional clothing, German cuisine, and more! 🏰

To wrap up the celebration, we put our learned knowledge to the test with "German Jeopardy!" from Activity Connection. 🤯

A festive afternoon filled with good food, learning, and plenty of Oktoberfest spirit! 😊

🎶 ❤️ Working 9 to 5 for Dolly! 🎵 🎸

This morning we celebrated Dolly Parton Day, declared by Nashville for September 25th in a fun nod to Dolly's iconic hit "9 to 5!" 🎤 💕

Residents listened and sang along to some of Dolly's greatest hits while coloring Dolly-themed pictures. We also learned the stories and inspiration behind some of her songs, adding a little musical history to our celebration. 🎨 😊

It was a fun way to spend the morning with one of country's most iconic voices! ✨️🤠👢
