Patricia Ann Heathcott Thompson was born on April 11,1944 in Finley, TN to the late Lawrence and Louise Daniels Heathcott. God called her home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 27,2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Miller Thompson, sister Mildred Austin and brother Lawrence "Buddy" Heathcott.

Patricia worked at Kellwood Mfg. in Alamo as a machine operator for 7 1/2 years. Afterwards she attended Dyersburg Beauty School and graduated as a beautician, opening her own beauty shop and servicing the community for 34 years.

Church was a vital part of her life. She was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she taught various Sunday School classes, served as a nursery worker and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Patricia was a devoted wife to her late husband, Miller of 49 years, a loving mother, grandmother and devoted friend.

As hobbies she enjoyed working outside, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her grandson, Andy.

She is survived by her daughter Cathy Shaw, grandson, Andy Shaw both of Friendship, her sister Mary White of McEwen, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, May 29th at Friendship Funeral Home with Revs. Bob Dennison and Trevor Sewell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 until service time. Burial will follow in Bellevernon Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve will be Joseph Garrett, Jody Moore, Ben Strayhorn, Jeff Strayhorn, Steve Laster, Jeremy Moore and honorary pallbearer will be Clark Branch.

Pattye Bates Anderson, 73, of Dyersburg, passed away on May 8, 2026, at the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alamo, Tennessee.
She was born July 30, 1952, to the late Chester and Maggie Lou Wi******er Bates. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Al Bates, and her grandparents, Mattie Wi******er and Otis and Ettie Bates.

Pattye leaves behind two sons, Christopher Boone (Kristy) of Starkville, Mississippi, and Marty Wood of Fulton, Mississippi; one sister, Anita Schroer (Larry) of Cordova, Tennessee; two grandsons, Garrison Boone (Stephanie) of Burke, Virginia, and Taylor Boone (Hannah) of Dunn, North Carolina; and two great-granddaughters, Charlotte Boone and Sutton Boone.

Known to her grandchildren as "Nana," she found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life: growing flowers, reading, painting, and pridefully sharing photos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and PruittHealth Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 24,2026 at Bellevernon Cemetery. Friendship Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Pattye Anderson.

Kenneth Frederick Norton, 73, of Friendship, TN passed away at the Okeena Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, TN after a short illness. Mr. Norton a former resident of Florida was the son of the late Forrest and Marion Schwartz Norton and had lived in Friendship for the past twelve years.

Mr. Norton was an accomplished musician and band director in the Tampa, Florida public school system before his retirement. After retiring to Crockett County, TN, he was a substitute teacher and director. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and attended the Bells Assembly of God for the past few years.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Brubaker Norton, Friendship, TN sons, Keven Norton, Plant City, FL, Jonathan Norton, Friendship, TN, daughters, Katie Valdez, Friendship, TN, Bekki Norton, Tampa FL, and grandchildren, Victor and Marcus Valdez and Beckett Norton.

A service to remember Kenneth will be held at the Friendship Funeral Home on Saturday May 9th at 10:00 A.M with Rev. Steve Winegardner officiating. At his request he will be cremated.

Peggie Sue Smith, 71, of Friendship, TN left her earthly home on Saturday April 18, 2026 at the West TN Health Care Center in Jackson. Ms. Smith had been in declining health for the past few months. She was born in Trenton, TN daughter of the late James Park and Peggy Rice Smith, and had been a lifelong resident of Crockett County, TN.

During her employment years she was employed by Gold Kist Co. and later was a technician for USDA. She was also a member of the Nance Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Donnie Smith.
Left to cherish her memory is a sister, Pat Branch, Friendship, TN, nephews, Scott, Michael, Daniel, Clayton Smith, sister in laws, Terrie and Cindy Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday April 23, 2026 at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. to celebrate her life. At her request she was cremated.

Teresa Elaine Newland 69, passed from this earthly home on Wednesday April 8,2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born in Jackson, TN April 13, 1956 daughter of the late Jackie and Leahrae Askew Taylor. She had lived in Jackson and Chester County her entire life.

She owned and operated her business Frame and Hang for several years and was known for her exceptional work. During her business years she was a member of the Jackson Kiwanis Club and the First Baptist Church of Bemis.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Danny Newland and brothers, Jackie and Darren Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Debra Smith (Terry), Finger, TN, Cindy Helms (Jim), Hammond, LA, brother Glen Taylor (Vanessa) Pinson, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Cave Springs Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. in Chester County, TN.

Percy Gene Thompson, Jr, 66, a resident of Dyersburg, TN parted this life on Monday March 30,2026 at his home, He was born in Jackson, TN son of Percy G. and Mary Lou Allen Thompson who survives. He lived most of his life in Friendship TN and was retired from the Coil Department of Ermco Factory. Percy was also actively involved in the family farm.

He attended the Finley Pentecostal Church.

Cherishing his memory in addition to his parents is a daughter, April Kennon, brothers,
Richard Thompson, Paul Thompson, both of Friendship, TN and a grandchild Christopher Kennon. He was preceded by his wife Belinda Riles.

Services will be held on April 1,2026 at noon at the Friendship Funeral Home with Charles Gable officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edd Lambert, Martin Thompson, Daniel Boone, and Michael Thompson.

Jerry Tillman Sims, 79, of Jackson, TN passed away March 23,2026 at his home. He was born on February 1,1947 in Martin, TN to the late Ray and Odell Tillman Sims. Jerry attended both University of Tennessee in Martin and Knoxville where he earned his Master's degree in both French and Mathematics and later taught at Greenfield High School and at the University of TN at Martin. Jerry was an avid reader and loved poetry.

Jerry was a former co-owner of Saunders Florist and loved cooking and catering for special events. Since 1995, Jerry worked for the Madison County Tax Assessor's office and was a member of the Greenfield First Baptist Church. He also served as past president of POEMS (Preservation of East Main and Surroundings).

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Linda Brown (Dale), Jackson, niece Robin Goodlow (Trevor), nephews Gary Lynn Tillman (Tama), Jason Suratt (Amy), Daniel Sims, (Jada), great nephews, Luke and Jack Goodlow, Conner and Will Sims, great nieces Kenly Ferguson (Eric) and Chloe Suratt. He also leaves his care giver Steve Cole.

Robbie was born in Tacoma, WA on July 10, 1985. He was the son of Robert Clolinger and Roxanne Wright Lumley and had lived in Trenton, TN for the past eight years. He was a Baptist in belief.

Wilda Kay Latham was born in Friendship, TN on November 4, 1947 daughter of the late Dewayne Perry and Wilda Wayne Nevil Latham where she lived most of her life. In recent years she has resided in Oak Ridge, TN to be near her son. She left her earthly home there in the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center on March 9, 2026.
During her employment years Kay was a social worker for the State of Tennessee where she was an advocate for foster and adopted children. This was a passion she dearly loved. Her concern was always for the lives of the children that she hopefully impacted. When in Friendship she was an active member of the Friendship United Methodist Church. She received her B A degree from Lambuth University now University of Memphis.

Left to cherish her memory is a son Michael Latham (Rebecca) Oak Ridge, TN, grandchildren, Dan, Amber and Douglas Latham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a brother Leon Latham.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday March 17,2026 at 11 A. M. at Bellevernon Cemetery with minister Susie Riley officiating.
