At Friendswood Vision, our mission has always been “Eye Care for the Community.” With this in mind, I gladly accepted principal Ms. McCarty’s invitation to be a guest speaker for her Mustangs on the Move pilot class at Friendswood ISD’s Cline Elementary. It was such a joy and honor to spread my knowledge about the eyes. The students impressed me with their attentiveness, curiosity, and thought-provoking questions. What a truly meaningful and fulfilling way to give back to the community that raised me. I remain forever a “Mustang on the Move.” 😉

Thanks so much to the Friendswood Chamber Of Commerce for having supported me through my past educational journey and now continuing to support me and my staff with our small business. It feels euphoric to come a full circle in Friendswood with your help. ^_^

Another Shop Local Adventure took me to visit Dr. Thu Tran, O.D., owner of Friendswood Vision! It was such a special visit because Dr. Tran is not only a local business owner, but also a proud Friendswood High School Class of 2003 graduate and a former Friendswood Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Recipient!

It makes us so proud to see one of our scholarship recipients come full circle and become an optometrist right here in the Friendswood community. We are honored to have played a small part in helping support her education and career journey.

Dr. Tran and her team have been supportive Friendswood Chamber of Commerce members since 2013, and we truly appreciate their continued investment in our community.

Dr. Tran was busy seeing patients during my visit, so I thanked her staff for their continued Chamber membership and support.

Thanks so much to our long-time patient for this thoughtful gift! We started seeing him when he was just six years old, and now we wish him the best as he heads off to college at UT Austin! It’s such a joy watching our young patients grow up throughout the years. 😊

As the new school year draws near, keep in mind that a school vision screening is not the same as an optometric comprehensive eye exam. A vision screening can miss vision conditions and ocular health issues that a comprehensive eye exam would be able to detect.

Much of learning is vision-related, so remember to schedule those back-to-school eye exams.

Hoan and his mini me Sawyer want to remind everyone to wear your sunglasses/Transitions when you’re outside to protect your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays. 😎

Wishing everyone a happy upcoming Father’s Day weekend!
