You’ve probably heard of EMDR…but what actually is it? 👀

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps your brain process painful or distressing experiences so they don’t feel as overwhelming in the present.

Sometimes, experiences from our past can continue to shape how we think, feel, and respond, even when we know logically that we’re safe or that the experience is over.

EMDR can help your brain process those experiences in a new way.

The goal isn’t to erase your story. It’s to help the past feel more like the past. 🤍

We’re Mosaic Way Counseling, and there are quite a few more of us these days. 🫶🏼

What started as a small counseling practice has grown into a team of trauma-informed therapists and administrative professionals serving Frisco, Southlake, College Station, North Dallas, and clients virtually across Texas. 🌿

Our therapists work with kids, teens, adults, couples, and families, with specialties ranging from anxiety and trauma to relationships, life transitions, EMDR, play therapy, and more.

And behind the scenes, our administrative team helps keep everything running and makes sure the people reaching out to us feel cared for from the very beginning. 🤍

We may work out of different offices, have different specialties, and play very different roles, but we’re all part of one team that cares deeply about doing counseling well and taking really good care of the people who trust us with their stories.

Whether you’ve been here for years or you’re brand new around here, hi! We’re Mosaic Way. ✨

🎉 Celebrating 1 Year with Christine Ziegler! 🎉

One year ago, Christine joined Mosaic Way Counseling, and we are so grateful for the warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuine care she has brought to our Southlake team.

Christine came to counseling after a diverse career that included work in renewable energy startups, photography, marketing, and real estate.

That breadth of life experience is part of what makes her such a relatable and grounded counselor. She brings curiosity, creativity, and an ability to connect with people from so many different walks of life.

In her first year with MWC, Christine has:
✨ Become EMDR-trained
✨ Continued growing her work with trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions
✨ Expanded her work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples
✨ Brought together CBT, ACT, solution-focused, and somatic approaches to meet clients where they are
✨ Continued pursuing her passion for supporting cross-cultural workers preparing for or returning from overseas service
✨ Offered faith integration for clients who want their spiritual life to be part of the counseling process

One of the things we appreciate most about Christine is the depth of perspective she brings into the counseling room.

Her own life experiences, professional background, and work supporting refugee families and international communities have shaped a genuine heart for walking alongside people through change, transition, and the process of finding renewed purpose.

Christine, thank you for choosing to spend this first year of your counseling career with Mosaic Way and for the compassion, intentionality, and unique perspective you bring to our team and your clients.

✨ From LPC Associate to LPC! ✨

There’s a new set of letters behind Jasmin Hernandez’s name, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate her!

🎉 Jasmin Hernandez, MA, LPC, EMDR-Trained 🎉

Jasmin came into the counseling field with a background in leadership and years of experience connecting with people in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Those experiences helped shape so much of what she brings into the counseling room today: empathy, adaptability, active listening, problem-solving, and an ability to meet people right where they are.

At Mosaic Way, Jasmin has found a particular passion for walking alongside adolescents and young adults through seasons that can feel uncertain or overwhelming.

Whether it’s anxiety, self-doubt, academic stress, career uncertainty, relationship struggles, trauma, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, Jasmin brings a balance of warmth and encouragement with practical tools and accountability.

Her approach is very much about helping clients move forward. She incorporates EMDR, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy to help clients better understand what they’re experiencing, build resilience, recognize the choices within their control, and take meaningful steps toward their goals.

And now, Jasmin is stepping into a new season of her own. 💜

Meet Ema Howerton-Limas 🤍

Our Client Care & Practice Coordinator and one of the friendly voices helping clients take their first steps at Mosaic Way.

Reaching out for counseling can feel overwhelming... especially when you’re already carrying a lot and aren’t quite sure what kind of support you need or where to begin. That’s where Ema comes in.

Whether she’s helping someone find the right counselor, scheduling a consultation, answering questions about services, or connecting someone with resources, Ema’s goal is to make the process feel a little easier and a lot more personal.

💬 “I want people to feel like they don’t have to figure out the next step alone. Sometimes having someone listen, understand what you need, and help point you in the right direction can make reaching out feel a little easier.”

Empathy and building rapport are two of Ema’s greatest strengths. She wants each person she speaks with to feel heard, cared for, and confident about what comes next, even if they have no idea where to start when they first reach out.

✨ Her reminder to anyone considering counseling: “You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for before you reach out. Tell me a little about what’s going on, and I’ll help you figure out where to start.”

Ema also brings flexibility, resourcefulness, and a strong sense of integrity to the behind-the-scenes work of caring for our clients and supporting the Mosaic Way team.

Of our five core values, Integrity is the one that resonates most with her.

Outside of work, Ema loves going to concerts with her husband, Gabriel, spending time with her kitties, Loki & Rooster, watching a good documentary, journaling, and finding ways to serve families in her community. 🎶🐾🤍

Ema earned her Bachelor of Social Work and MBA from Texas Woman’s University.

We’re so grateful to have Ema helping make the process of finding care at Mosaic Way feel a little more human, connected, and manageable from the very first conversation. ✨
