🤰 Do you know your personal risk for preeclampsia? It's an important conversation to have with your doctor during pregnancy.

Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy condition that can sometimes develop with few or no noticeable symptoms. Dr. Seth J. Herbst, an OB-GYN with HCA Healthcare, explains what preeclampsia is, why knowing your risk matters and how talking with your doctor early can help determine whether preventive steps — including low-dose aspirin for those at increased risk — may be appropriate.

Through our partnership with March of Dimes, our broader HCA Healthcare network is helping raise awareness about preeclampsia, the importance of risk screening and conversations that can support healthier pregnancies.

We believe in elevating care by elevating each other — and our patient care technicians (PCTs) bring that to life every day.

During PCT Week, we proudly celebrate our PCTs whose work makes a meaningful impact across HCA Healthcare — a network that supports approximately 47 million patient encounters each year.

PCTs are integral members of the care team, delivering hands-on care that directly supports patient outcomes. From assisting with mobility, personal care and meals to collaborating continuously with nurses and interdisciplinary teams, PCTs contribute essential clinical and compassionate care throughout the day. Their role reflects both technical skill and a commitment to teamwork, making them a foundational part of high-quality patient care.

To our PCTs, thank you for the care, comfort and support you bring to patients and colleagues alike.

Summer is made for sunshine and time outside — and we’re sharing a few simple precautions to help you stay safe and enjoy every moment. As warmer weather brings more people outdoors, emergency rooms often see more injuries and illnesses related to heat, overexertion and recreational activities.

As part of Medical City Healthcare, we are connected to a broader network of care spanning 19 states and the U.K., making it easier to get the care you need, when and where you need it. Taking a moment to plan ahead can help you know where to go for timely treatment.

A can happen after a hard hit to the head or a sudden jolt that causes the brain to move inside the skull. 🧠 Because some symptoms show up right away – and others may not appear for hours or even days – it’s not always easy to know when to simply rest and when to seek medical care.

Mild-to-moderate cramps can be a normal part of your menstrual cycle. But when drags on for days, disrupts work or school or makes everyday life feel overwhelming, it could be your body’s way of saying that something more is going on. This is especially true if you’re also dealing with heavy bleeding, nausea or worsening pain.

Every birth story is unique.🤰 For some moms, it may involve cesarean delivery, also known as a C-section. Doctors perform this major abdominal surgery for a variety of reasons, often related to complications during pregnancy or delivery. If you’re expecting a baby, it’s important to understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. For example, having a C-section increases the chance that you will need a C-section for future deliveries.

Each year, more than 200,000 babies are born in hospitals across our broader HCA Healthcare network. If you’re expecting and exploring your birth options – including when a C section might be recommended – finding the right obstetrician is an important first step.

As a proud partner of March of Dimes, we're is committed to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes through clinical data, pioneering research and compassionate care. Learn more about C-sections from March of Dimes: https://bit.ly/3N7oZTw
