‼️Join us for our Sound Safari: A Music Passport Adventure! Our intern is hosting this free music group at our Frisco location!‼️

🪘Sound Safari is a music series for children and teens with developmental disabilities and their families
🪇Participants will explore instruments, collect stamps, earn a certificate, and enjoy music with our Sound Starts Community!
📆Sessions will be held every Saturday from 5pm-5:30pm from September 19th to October 17th

The MARACA is a rattle which is used in many genres of Latin and Caribbean music. Usually played as a pair, maracas are shaken by a handle.

Pebbles, beans, beads, and similar items are used inside the maraca, so that when shaken, they rattle. Maracas were used by the Brazilian Tupinamba people to heal the sick!

Here are some goals the piano can address in a music therapy session:
-Fine Motor Skills (grasping the handles)
-Impulse Control (play when you hear a certain word, etc)
-Direction Following (play loud/soft, fast/slow, etc)
-And so much more!
