❄️ A Wintry Update from North Texas Medical Clinic & novéraTeam
While snow is a rare and beautiful treat in Dallas, we want to make sure you stay safe while enjoying the snow.
🕒 Office Hours & Urgent Care
Changes: For the safety of our patients and staff, our office will be CLOSED on Wednesday, January 28th due to road conditions.
Although some appointments were previously confirmed, conditions did not improve as expected, and we felt it was best to make this decision with everyone’s safety in mind.
Our team will be calling you tomorrow to reschedule any appointments scheduled for Wednesday. We will continue to share updates via email and on our pages if anything changes.
Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe.
Medical Emergencies: If you require urgent care, please go to your closest Emergency Room or call 911.
Non-Urgent Requests: Please leave a voicemail or reach out via the patient portal, and we will respond as soon as conditions improve.
🧤 Staying Healthy in the Cold
Keep these safety tips in mind to protect your health during the storm:
Layer Properly: Wear several layers of loose-fitting, lightweight clothing instead of one heavy layer.
Protect Extremities: Use a hat, insulated gloves, and waterproof boots to prevent significant heat loss.
Indoor Safety: Keep your home temperature at least at 68°F to 70°F to prevent hypothermia.
Hydrate: Drink 6–8 glasses of water or warm herbal teas to stay hydrated in the dry air.
Support Immunity: Boost your system with foods rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc.
Keep Moving: Try 30 minutes of indoor yoga or stretching to maintain circulation.
📸 Looking Back: February 2021
The snow you see here was part of a record-breaking arctic blast that brought roughly 5 inches of snow to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It was one of the most significant winter storms in North Texas history, leaving DFW below freezing for 129 consecutive hours.
We remain deeply grateful that we managed to take care of our patients' needs during that difficult time, alongside the challenges of post-COVID complications.
