Three months post-op, and back on her feet.

This patient is three months out from minimally invasive bunion surgery (MIBS) performed by Dr. Leroy Butler, and the before-and-after speaks for itself. Because MIBS corrects bunions through small incisions rather than the larger cuts of traditional surgery, many patients experience less disruption and a smoother path back to walking and daily activity.

Results vary from patient to patient, but cases like this show what modern, minimally invasive techniques can offer. Wondering if MIBS is right for you? Learn more at oint.org.

Bunions and hammertoes often show up together, and they can be corrected together, too.

This patient is just two weeks post-op following minimally invasive bunion surgery (MIBS) with hammertoe correction, performed by Dr. Justin Kane. Even at this early stage, the change in alignment is clear. Because MIBS uses small incisions rather than the large cuts of traditional bunion surgery, many patients experience less disruption to the surrounding tissue and a quicker return to their daily routine.

Every foot is different, and results vary from patient to patient, but cases like this show what modern, minimally invasive techniques can achieve. Curious whether MIBS is right for you? Learn more at oint.org.

When we think of sports injuries, we picture the dramatic moment, the fall, the collision, the pop. But some of the most common injuries in young athletes don't happen all at once. They build slowly.

With year-round sports and single-sport specialization, overuse injuries are increasingly common. The same motion, repeated again and again, can gradually outpace the body's ability to recover, especially in growing athletes. The tricky part is that the early signs are easy to brush off: a nagging ache that lingers, soreness that keeps returning to the same spot, or discomfort that slowly gets worse over weeks rather than days.

The takeaway for parents and athletes: don't wait for a dramatic injury to take pain seriously. Rest, recovery, and early evaluation can keep a small issue from becoming a season-ending one.

As kids head back to school and back to sports, injuries can come with the season.

Dr. Sarang Desai shares what parents should know about youth sports injuries, from the acute ones that happen in a single moment to the overuse injuries that build gradually over time. Knowing the difference, and when to get your young athlete evaluated, can make all the difference in keeping them healthy and in the game.

New school year, new season, and a great time to set your young athlete up for a healthy one.

Many early-season injuries come down to doing too much, too soon after a summer off. A little preparation helps: ramp activity back up gradually, check that cleats and athletic shoes fit growing feet properly, build in dynamic warm-ups and conditioning, and prioritize rest. Just as important, take lingering pain seriously, soreness that keeps returning to the same spot is a signal worth checking, not something to push through.

Swipe for a quick pre-season checklist. And if an injury is slowing your athlete down, Dr. Sarang Desai specializes in sports and foot & ankle care for athletes of all ages. oint.org.

If a previous foot or ankle surgery hasn't given you the outcome you hoped for, a revision evaluation starts with one thing: understanding exactly what happened before.

Gathering the right records ahead of time makes that first conversation far more productive. That means your original operative reports and clinic notes, your imaging from before and after surgery plus anything current (and ideally the actual image files, not just the written reports), and any relevant labs, cultures, or vascular testing. For patients traveling from out of town, having these ready means an initial review can often begin remotely before an in-person visit.

The more complete the picture, the clearer your path forward. Swipe for what to gather, then reach out to begin. oint.org

Hand and wrist pain rarely announces itself loudly. More often, it starts small, a little numbness at night, a weaker grip, a finger that catches, until everyday tasks start to feel different.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the most well-known causes, where pressure on a nerve in the wrist leads to numbness, tingling, and weakness. But it's far from the only one. Arthritis can stiffen the small joints of the hand, tendon problems like trigger finger can cause catching and locking, and injuries or other nerve compressions can leave lasting symptoms. The common thread: these issues often progress if left unaddressed.

Paying attention to subtle changes in how your hands function can help catch problems early. Dr. Vikas Patel specializes in hand and wrist care at OINT.

Shoulder pain has a way of touching everything, reaching, lifting, sleeping, even getting dressed. But "shoulder pain" isn't one diagnosis. It has many possible causes.

Some of the most common include rotator cuff problems (wear or injury to the muscles and tendons that stabilize the joint), shoulder arthritis (pain and stiffness as cartilage wears down), impingement and bursitis (often from repetitive overhead motion), and stiffness or instability like frozen shoulder or recurring dislocations. Because the shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, that flexibility also makes it vulnerable.

The good news: identifying the cause is the first step toward relief, and many shoulder conditions respond well to non-surgical care. Dr. Vikas Patel specializes in shoulder and elbow care here at OINT.

Orthopedic care keeps moving forward, and that's good news for patients.

Modern techniques are changing what recovery looks like. Minimally invasive procedures can mean smaller incisions and a faster return to daily life. Regenerative options like PRP and bone marrow aspirate use the body's own healing mechanisms to support recovery in the right candidates. And advanced imaging and surgical planning help our surgeons tailor treatment to each patient's anatomy and goals.

But the most important innovation is still individualized care, matching every patient with the approach that truly fits them, whether that's surgery or a non-surgical path. At OINT, that's the standard.
