Mountain City Rehab Center was lucky enough to be able to have 10 volunteers from the Catholic HEART Workcamp. Many of the Volunteers that we had the pleasure to work with are from Massachusetts and New York. The Catholic Heart Workcamp helped with many tasks while they were here at the facility. They helped with glamour shots for the ladies and gentlemen here. They also helped with Bingo, Jeopardy, arts & crafts, reading to the residents, manicures, and more. The greatest thing they helped with was making meaningful connections with the residents and bringing light and smiles to each person they interacted with. We thank The Catholic Heart Workcamp for coming and we thank them for all of the love and hard work they put into our facility and residents!

Moving here from Ohio having no family I was welcomed with open arms where co-workers became family and residents became friends. Being in the Admissions department is not for the weak it’s a 24/7 job requires lots of dedication, strong relationships with the community and an amazing team to have behind you. Avannah states that she loves working at Mountain City Rehab Center and also loves all her co-workers. She is described as someone who goes above and beyond in the work field and is always there to give a helping hand when needed. She is a great nurse, and friend. Avannah has been an LPN for 10 years and has worked here at Mountain City for almost 2 years. In those two years, she has exceeded all expectations and has truly shined in the work and has quickly climbed the ladder in success. She was recently promoted to Nursing Unit Manager. Avannah is a great asset to our team, and we are lucky to have her!
