Frostburg Rehab Center Employee Spotlight!
Laura Tingler is an Activity Aide at Frostburg Rehab Center. She has worked in activities for 4 years. She states, “I wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives and help bring joy and purpose along with companionship to our residents everyday. Building relationships with the residents and seeing them smile and knowing I brighten their day is the most rewarding part of my job. The sense of family makes this workplace different from others. The residents and staff truly care about one another and we all work together to provide the best care possible. I would describe the team culture as supportive, compassionate, and team oriented. I am proud to work here, because I get to see the residents engaged and happy and it makes me proud of what I do. My residents keep me coming back each day they are part of my life. They inspire me everyday knowing I can make them smile and improve their quality of life keeps me coming back. Our leadership team is supportive, approachable and encourages our best. They listen, provide guidance, and help us succeed in our roles. One of the moments I felt most appreciated was when one of the residents thanked me for making them feel seen, valued, and happy. It is those moments that remind me of why I love what I do. This job has helped me grow tremendously. It has taught me patience, compassion, leadership, communication, and the importance of making each moment of life meaningful. Working here feels like being part of a family where everyday is an opportunity to make a difference".
