This class will be a deep dive into 5 medicinal flowers: Rose, Calendula, Chamomile, Arnica, and Hibiscus. We will discuss applications for stress relief, skin healing, digestive support, cardiovascular support, and first aid. The class will also cover growing and harvesting tips, medicine making techniques, and more. The fee for this class is $35 and includes a handout, herbal tea, a packet of flowers to take home, and samples of creams, infused oils, and hydrosols to try in class. The class coincides with the Petals & Pedals event in Frostburg that day 12-4. Stop in and get a flower from the participating businesses to make your own bouquet, and come back for the class to stay immersed in floral beauty. I will be serving floral-themed mocktails and treats in addition to being a flower stop.

(No refunds are given for missed classes. In the event of illness, you can apply the fee to another class. )

Excited about having kids back in the shop next month! This is a fun 3 day series of herbal and plant activities for kids ages 6-15. We will learn about helpful plants, make plant identification books, herbal teas and other beverages, learn about using plants for bug bites and first aid, and using botanicals in crafts. Each day will include a hands-on herb activity or craft project, and making yummy treats and drinks with herbs. The cost for the 3 day series is $95 and includes all materials, snacks and beverages.

We will meet 9:30 am -12:30 pm on Monday August 17, Tuesday August 18, and Wednesday August 18. Room for 8 participants. The registration link is in the comments.

Yesterday, one of my favorite organic herb farms and suppliers, Oshala Farm, suffered a devastating fire that destroyed much of their infrastructure. Their drying facility, equipment, storage facilities, many dried herbs, and processing equipment were destroyed in the fire, thankfully the people and animals are all safe. Oshala provides excellent quality dried organic herbs, and are super nice people as well. I am sharing their Go Fund Me link if you feel inclined to donate toward their rebuilding efforts. I was just going to place an order with them, and was looking forward to the upcoming harvest of this year's plants. Hopefully they will be able to process the plants still growing in their fields.
