Ancora Health Services: Hospice-Palliative-House calls

Ancora Health Services: Hospice-Palliative-House calls Locally owned and operated, Ancora promotes and supports patient, family, and community-centered care with trust and compassion.

We welcome you to Ancora Hospice. In Latin, Ancora means support, refuge and anchor. Our Hope is to provide you and your loved one a place of refuge and support you as you navigate through this journey. We desire to provide the best end-of-life care experience possible. We understand this may mean something different to each individual due to beliefs and life experiences. You may have noticed our

logo includes a tree. This was intentional and symbolic. The roots represent the connections and relationships which anchor us throughout life. The trunk, bark, and branches represent the impact and influential reach each of us has on the world around us, while the silver color represents and acknowledges the wisdom and value our patients bring to our lives. You will also notice the trunk is a bit gnarled and bent - acknowledging a life lived and the imperfection we often feel. The green of our leaves represents the growth and learning we experience throughout the duration of our lives. As you look up into the canopy of a tree, you will notice that every leaf is different. This signifies how the people we serve have their own uniqueness and individuality. We want your experience with Ancora to be specific to you and your family. We, the owners of Ancora, have served in hospice for many years. We understand the value of highly trained staff to help you in your journey. It may be a difficult journey, but we will be here to support you. Our staff will help in management of physical pains and discomfort, as well as social and emotional needs you and your family may have along the way. Together we hope to make this experience as good as it can be despite the circumstance in which you find yourselves. Lastly, know that we care about you! We care about your hopes, dreams and everything in between. We care if you are comfortable, clean, warm, dry and most importantly respected. We hope you feel the trust, compassion, and support that we promise to give you with every interaction you have with us. We are honored for the opportunity to serve you. Sincerely,

Cindy Lee, RN - Owner, CEO/Administrator
Dani Castro, RN - Owner & COO
Billy Galligar, MD - Owner & Chief Medical Officer

Heat and smoky skies can be especially challenging for those living with serious illness.

A few simple precautions: staying cool, limiting outdoor exposure, and knowing when to call your care team can make a big difference in comfort and safety.

We've put together a quick guide with helpful tips for hospice patients, caregivers, and anyone living with a chronic illness.

Stay safe, stay cool, and remember our team is here to help whenever you need us.

Choosing the Right Hospice: It's Okay to Ask Questions

Choosing a hospice provider is one of the most important healthcare decisions a family can make. The right hospice should provide more than medical care, it should provide comfort, guidance, and peace of mind.

When comparing hospice providers, consider asking:
✔️ How quickly can care begin?
✔️ What services are included?
✔️ How are families supported?
✔️ Is someone available 24/7 if we need help?
✔️ How will you communicate with our physician and care team?

You deserve a hospice team that listens, answers your questions, and makes you feel supported every step of the way.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. The right hospice will welcome them.

Many families tell us they wish they had learned about hospice sooner.

Hospice may be appropriate when treatments are no longer providing benefit and the focus shifts toward comfort and quality of life.

The earlier hospice is involved, the more support patients and families can receive.

If you're wondering whether hospice might be the right choice, we're here to answer your questions, without pressure and with compassion.
