The puffiness was caused by fat herniation beneath both lower lids, a structural issue that only surgery can permanently address.

Dr. Peyman performed a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty. This approach places the incision on the inside of the lower eyelid, leaving no external scar and requiring no external stitches. The fat pads causing the bags were removed and repositioned through this hidden incision.

This patient had a quad blepharoplasty and full face ablative CO2 laser resurfacing performed together at our Fullerton office. The first photo is before treatment. The second is day 5 after the laser. The third is day 13.

At day 5 the skin is pink and actively peeling. Patients are doing vinegar soaks and applying Aquaphor during this stage. This is a normal and expected part of the healing process.

By day 13 the redness has calmed considerably and the skin is noticeably smoother. The tone is beginning to even out. This is still early. The collagen remodeling from an ablative CO2 laser continues for several months, and the result will keep improving.
Most patients return to normal social activities by the end of the second week, though some residual pinkness may remain and can be covered with makeup.
