👗Wear the dress.
👠 Put on the cute shoes.
📸 Take the picture.
And don’t forget to enjoy the life you’re living while you’re busy building the life you want.

Taking care of yourself isn’t always about making one big change— Sometimes it’s the little things you replace along the way…

A plastic container here. A bar of soap there. A cleaning product. A beauty product. Just becoming more intentional about what I bring into my home.

I’ve realized that a “no-tox” life isn’t possible. So I’m aiming for low-tox— reducing exposure where I can, buying better products when I can, and remembering progress over perfection.

That’s a good reminder for life in general: We don’t have to change everything overnight. Small choices add up.

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. Sometimes you just have to put on the cute shoes and keep walking. 👠 👠 🫶🏼

I’m excited about this one! 🙌💚

Kombucha is definitely an acquired taste, but with so many potential health benefits—especially when it comes to gut health—I’m excited to learn more about it at this workshop! 🫙✨

Always looking for new ways to support overall health and wellness. 💪🌿

🫙 Curious about making your own kombucha at home?

Kombucha is a fermented tea drink with a tangy, slightly sweet flavor and natural fizz. It’s made by fermenting sweetened tea with a SCOBY—a culture of bacteria and yeast—and it can be flavored in all kinds of fun ways. 🍋🍓🌿

Why do people enjoy it? Depending on how it’s made, kombucha may contain live cultures, organic acids, and antioxidants from the tea itself. Many people choose it as a flavorful alternative to soft drinks, and some enjoy it as part of a diet that includes fermented foods. While it’s not a cure-all, it can be a fun way to learn more about fermentation and making foods and drinks at home.

The Clarke County Extension Office is hosting a FREE Introduction to Kombucha Crafting at Home workshop on September 17 from 4:30–5:30 PM in Grove Hill! The one-hour workshop will include a kombucha-making demonstration, a tested recipe, and taste testing. Registration is limited!

One of the most interesting ideas in neuroscience is that your ability to push through difficult things may be trainable. 🧠 The anterior mid cingulate cortex has been associated with effort, persistence, and the willingness to continue working toward difficult goals. What's especially fascinating is that resilience isn't necessarily built by doing things you already enjoy. It can develop when you repeatedly choose to do something challenging that you'd rather avoid. Finishing the workout when motivation disappears, sticking to a difficult habit, having an uncomfortable conversation, or continuing to work toward a long term goal all require some level of effort and resistance. Every time you deliberately choose discipline over avoidance, you're practicing persistence. Mental toughness isn't something you either have or don't have. Like physical strength, it can be developed through repeated practice. The people who become mentally stronger aren't necessarily avoiding difficult situations. They're learning to face them instead of automatically running from them. 🔥🧠

She was nicknamed "Pudgy" as a child. Then she pressed 135 pounds overhead with one arm, organized the first sanctioned women's weightlifting competition in U.S. history, and did it all in an era when visible muscle on a woman was treated as a character flaw.

Abbye Stockton didn't just build a remarkable physique. She built the entire framework for what women's strength training in America would eventually become, starting on a stretch of Santa Monica beach with a pair of dumbbells her boyfriend brought her.

What most people don't know is how she got from telephone operator to one of the most capable athletes of her generation, and what she had to quietly dismantle along the way to do it.
