Patty Buse

Patty Buse, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Mantachie. She was born April 12, 1942, in Marietta, to Sidney Kiley Holley and Evie Clifton Hughes Holley. She was an active member of the Centerville Baptist Church, where she played the piano and taught children’s Sunday School for many years, until she wasn’t able. She loved cooking for her family on Sunday afternoons and was famous for her homemade yeast rolls. Her family looked forward to her Christmas dinner every year, when her and her husband always cooked a steak and shrimp meal. She never forgot a grandchild’s birthday and always sent them a birthday card and make a homemade cookie cake. She loved showing her love through her cooking. She and her husband loved canning and always had a big garden and always enjoyed giving away their vegetables every year. She had an infectious smile and a deep love for her God and her family.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Greg Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Tae Jackson (Lonnie) of Mantachie and Susan Campbell ( Mike) of the Pratts community; two sons, Chris Buse (Dian), and Matthew Buse ( Shanna), both of Mantachie; fourteen grandchildren, Carrie Shehane (Michael), Thomas Guin (Meghan), Jonathan Guin (Katelin), Jesse Guin (Miranda), Holly Guin, Justin Campbell (Ashley), Ethan Campbell (Jaleesa), Christina Lindley (Heath), Elizabeth Churchwell (Graham), Bethany Buse, Macy Buse, Case Buse, Reed Buse, and Kyle Buse; Twenty-four great grandchildren, Makennah Guin, Hannah Guin, Liam Guin, Mila Guin, Sayla Guin, Wyatt Guin, Laylah Guin, Connor Campbell, Walker Campbell, Reese Campbell, Vanessa Campbell, John Michael Campobell, Aiden Lindley, Malachi Lindley, Sarai Lindley, John Ezra Lindley, Cooper Churchwell, Eli Shehane, Essie Shehane, Charlotte Guin, William Guin, Zera Tae Guin, and Baby Guin and Baby Churchwell on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jerry Dale Buse; one brother, Joe Moore; three sisters, Louise Chaffin, Faye Kelso, and Nell Naeger; one grandson, Dewayne Guin; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.

Linda Gail Martin

Dorsey- Linda Gail Martin, 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born February 6, 1950, in Tupelo to Robert and Jewel Page but was lovingly raised by her very special uncle and aunt, Leonard and Ruby Carnathan. She was a long-time active member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She had a true servant’s heart, always thinking of others, baking cakes, pies, or casseroles for any she felt needed an extra blessing. She owned and operated a daycare in her home for many years and became a second mother to many while in that role. She loved all children but most of all, she loved her family. Raising her 3 daughters and managing their household along with her husband was her greatest accomplishment. Her love language was acts of service. If she loved you, you knew it because she showed you. She was everyone’s “Nana”. Her sweet demeanor remained even when the cruelties of dementia stole her memories.

Services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the McNeece Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Hershel Martin; her twin brother, Jerry Page (Doris), her daughters Amy Spradling (Ken), Heather Michael (Britt), and Staci Arriola (Richard); ten grandchildren, Zachary Spradling (Bronson), Kelsey Pennington (John Levi), Morgan Black (Josh), Seth Michael (Samantha), Evan Michael, Dillon Arriola (Nicole), Dakota Arriola (Sarah) Dawson Arriola, Maddox Arriola, and Sophie Arriola; seven great grandchildren, Oakley Spradling, Valley Spradling, Ledger Pennington, Cyrus Black, Macie Black, Amelia Arriola, Dailon Arriola; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her special uncle and aunt, her brother, Wayne Page, and her infant daughter, Lisa Gail Martin.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Spradling, Jon Levi Pennington, Seth Michael, Evan Michael, Dawson Arriola, and Maddox Arriola.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House.

Craig Mabus

Fulton- Craig Wright Mabus, 66, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home. He was born on January 20, 1960, in Mississippi, to W.W. Mabus and Betty Sue Cady Mabus. He was disabled most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs and cats.

Services will be private. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Mabus.

Jean Smith

Michie, TN- Elizabeth Jean Smith, 80, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at her home. She was born on July 20, 1946, in Tupelo, MS, to Henry Edward Richards and Josephine Hernden Wheeler Richards. She loved hummingbirds, sunflowers, and working in her flower beds. She had a special love for her dog, Ace. She especially loved spending time with her family and serving the Lord.

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie, MS. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery in Plantersville.

Survivors includer her bother-in-law and caregiver, Timothy Danovski of Fulton; one brother, Jack “Doug” Richards of Mantachie; one sister, Ann Smith of Mooreville; two grandchildren, T.J. Danovski, Jr. and Shae Danovski; two great grandchildren, Noel and Kacey Danovski; one brother-in-law, Terry Danovski of Fulton; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” O. Smith; brother, Edwin Richards; and one sister Jennifer Richards.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
