MISSION:movement Wellness Studio A "boutique-style" wellness studio designed just for women featuring 1:1 & small group training optio

I am a Women’s Wellness & Cancer Exercise Specialist who loves to talk about fitting wellness into real life. As a lover of pizza, cabernet, and dessert, (especially white cake with white frosting~make it almond-flavored and look out--’cause I'm definitely going in! ) I frequently go off on tangents, and wants the world to understand that living a healthy lifestyle and real life really can co-exis

t! Rarely do I leave the house without something sparkly, furry or animal print (sometimes all 3) and my "we both agree that we are never getting married but we are totally committed" emerald ring even if it is just a trip to the grocery store or to roadie for my fav drummer (her "husband-like-person", Joe). WARNING: I laugh all of the time, even when inappropriate, most likely because I am trying not to blurt out an inappropriate joke that popped in my head. I truly believe that everyone should make their Mid-years their BEST years and feel compelled to help those who are often ignored or minimized--especially those who ignore and minimize their own needs.

If you've been feeling off lately and can't figure out why, your body might be trying to tell you something.

Chronic stress, even the low-grade, everyday kind, can show up in ways that have nothing to do with feeling "stressed out."

It can affect your sleep, weight, cravings, and mood in ways that feel random but are actually connected.

When you start addressing the ROOT CAUSE instead of just pushing harder, things can start to shift.

Ready to stop feeling like this?

My Cortisol Reset was designed for women in their 40s ready to take control of their energy again.

Happy Birthday to my amazing Mom Jackie Dice!

Who I was in high school would be VERY surprised by the woman I became. 😂

I wasn’t athletic.
I hated speaking in front of groups.
I was shy.
And technology was definitely not my thing.

Somehow, all four became part of the life and work I love today.

That’s one of the best things about getting older:

Who you were at 17 doesn’t get the final vote.

You can grow stronger.
Build confidence.
Learn something completely new.
And become someone your younger self never saw coming.

I wrote more about this, and what planning my 40th high school reunion reminded me about reinvention after 40, in my latest Substack post.

✨ Read it at the link in my bio.

What would your high school self be most surprised to learn about you today?

Most women think:

* My metabolism is broken.
* My hormones ruined everything.
* I’m just getting old.

Reality:
Your body changed.
Your strategy needs to change too.

Comment STRONG if you’re ready to work with your body instead of fighting it.

Forty years after high school, I’ve realized something…

The things I struggled with the most became some of the biggest parts of my life.

I wasn’t outgoing.
Now I love connecting with people.

I wasn’t into technology.
Now tech is part of my everyday life.

Speaking in front of people terrified me.
Today I teach classes, coach women, speak at events, and create videos every week.

And athletics?
Let’s just say no one was voting me “Most Likely to Become a Fitness Coach.” 😂

None of those changes happened overnight.

I MADE the DECISION to:
➡️ Learn something new.
➡️ Get a little uncomfortable.
➡️ Stop letting old stories decide who I could become.

That’s the beautiful thing about getting older…

You don’t become less capable.
You become more willing to grow.

So if you’re over 40 and wondering if you’ve missed your chance to change…

You haven’t.

Your next chapter doesn’t have to look anything like your first.

💛 What are you better at today than you ever imagined you’d be in high school?

FOODIE FRIDAY!

You know those nights when cooking is the last thing you want to do?

This is the recipe for those nights.

It's easy, packed with protein, and the leftovers make lunch a no-brainer.

🍲 Chicken and White Bean Stew
Serves 4

2 Tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, finely chopped
5 garlic cloves, smashed and peeled
1 tsp dried thyme
Red pepper flakes to taste
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 cups (960ml) chicken broth
2 (15oz / 425g) cans cannellini beans, drained
1 bunch kale, escarole, or another dark leafy green, stems removed and leaves coarsely chopped

1️⃣ Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until softened and golden, 8 to 10 minutes.
2️⃣ Add chicken, broth, and white beans. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until chicken is cooked through (165°F / 74°C), 10 to 14 minutes.
3️⃣ Transfer chicken to a bowl. Smash some beans against the side of the pot to thicken the broth. Stir in the greens and simmer uncovered while you shred the chicken.
4️⃣ Shred chicken with two forks. Stir back into the stew and season to taste.

When your energy crashes in the afternoon, your first instinct may be:

Coffee.

Something sweet.

Or lying under your desk until everyone goes home.

But one of the simplest ways to help yourself feel more alert is to take a short walk.

Even ten minutes of movement can help you:

✅ Break up long periods of sitting
✅ Feel more awake and focused
✅ Support steadier energy after lunch
✅ Improve your mood
✅ Get outside for some fresh air and daylight
✅ Avoid caffeine too late in the day

It doesn’t need to be a power walk.

Take a loop around the block, walk through the building, or march around your kitchen while questioning your life choices.

Movement is movement.

📌 Save this for the next time the 3 p.m. slump arrives.

👉 Follow me for simple strategies that help women over 40 create more energy without completely rearranging their lives.

You can spend eight hours in bed and still wake up feeling like someone secretly replaced your batteries with the bargain-brand version.

Sleep quality matters too.

If your sleep is frequently interrupted, restless, or inconsistent, you may not feel fully refreshed in the morning.

A few habits that can help support better sleep:

✅ Keep your bedtime and wake-up time fairly consistent
✅ Put your phone away before bed
✅ Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet
✅ Create a short wind-down routine
✅ Avoid saving every stressful thought for 10:47 p.m.
✅ Get some movement and daylight during the day

Better sleep doesn’t always begin with spending more time in bed.

Sometimes it begins with helping your body and brain recognize that the day is officially over.

📌 Save this and choose one habit to try tonight.

👉 Follow me for realistic strategies that help women over 40 improve their energy, strength, and overall well-being.
