I have a lot of clients ask me about labor and delivery gowns, so here are my thoughts! As always, take the helpful tips you want and leave the restšPhoto from Mom & Baby Essentials] You may have seen some labor gowns with all kinds of snaps for easy access to ivs, epidurals, etc. Here are things to think about when making the purchase:
1. Are you sensitive to either what fabric is washed in or the feel of fabrics?
2. Birth is messy and you may not want to take the gown home with you. 3. Some people end up birthing naked as birth heightens sensations and anything against their skin can not feel good. For some, a labor and delivery gown is helpful for feeling modest and comfortable when birthing. For others, the hospital gown or a the mesh un**es and sports bra work well. If you have to choose one or the other, I would recommend getting a super comfy robe for your postpartum time in the hospital (pictured is one from Mom & Baby Essentials] ). It is perfect for breastfeeding, great for pictures, and you can use it when you get home too! Did you go to your birth location with a robe or gown? I would love to hear your experience!
