Good morning, friends.

I wanted to share this article that a current client sent to me regarding what happens when parents place undue responsibilities on children without their consent, forcing them to take on more adult-like roles. It results in a phenomenon called "parentification", which basically means primary roles within the family dynamic shift and leads the child "parenting" an adult caregiver or sibling(s). Parentification leaves a heavy emotional and mental burden on the child who will ultimately grow up trying to fix the problems of other people, have poor self-esteem or constantly fearful that they have to appease others just so they won't abandon them or "not like them". It leads to serious attachment issues that can take years to undo.

One of the many issues I treat are attachment disorders. These disorders stem from poor attachment that is Innately learned at a young age. If you or someone you know struggle with setting good boundaries for yourself or you find yourself saying "yes" to things that you don't really want to do but are afraid if you do not do it, others will be mad or upset with you, then attachment work may be helpful for you. You can learn more about the psychological framework or attachment theory by reading up its founder, John Bowlby.

Hi everyone! 👋

All my male followers out there, did you know that June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month?? My guess is, probably not. Unfortunately, it is not something that is widely publicized in our society. After all, men are supposed to be tough and mentally capable to "deal" with their issues, right?!?

Wrong. ✋️

Men struggle just as deeply, probably more so in today's society as they are constantly attacked, put down, demasculatized, criminalized, demoralized, under-valued and disrespected. So....how are they supposed to cope with this kind of treatment?

To all the men who work long hours, who sacrifice their needs for others, who show up and show out for their families, who are trustworthy, dependable and reliable....who are loving and safe, I see you! And I commend you and all of your efforts. 👏 I thank you! 👏 You deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.

So let's talk about Men's Mental health. Let's normalize it and do what we can to promote mentally strong, capable men who help make this world go around! 💪 🧠 ❤️

Another 5k in the books! What a BEAUTIFUL day for a race and to spend time in our community, supporting one another and cheering each other on. Wow! Everyone did an amazing job today! 👏 👏 👏

Thank you to my husband and my Reclamation family for all the support, outreach, encouragement, helping setting up, managing the booth, AND to my husband who kept us both motivated during the entire race. He absolutely crushed it. 💪🍾🤘🥰

Good morning, friends and happy Friday!

This girl has ALOT to be grinning about today. This week has been monumental for me and my practice. See this license behind me? It is soon about to take a upgrade! I am ELATED to announce that I have officially completed the post-graduate required licensure hours needed to become FULLY licensed! 👏👏👏👏 🎉🎉🎉🎉

What does this mean? Well, once my application and paperwork is submitted and approved by the licensing board, and my full licensure is granted:

-I become more marketable and flexible with other insurance companies, meaning I will be able to accept an array of policies instead of being limited to a few.
-I am able to receive specialized trainings and certifications (that I have been patiently waiting to do)
-I no longer have to pay for clinical supervision (although my mentors are absolutely the best and have taught me so much, it is a big expense)

Another personal blessing took place at the same time I submitted for my final supervision report. And this blessing was a complete shock to me. I am forever humbled and grateful. 🙏
