Then vs now.. still a very happy girl! Why am I showing you pictures of my dog? Well, apart from sharing her dopamine-boosting cuteness, she actually serves to remind us of some very important lessons. So here are today's reminders from Izzie:
🐾BE PRESENT- Dogs live only in the present. As far as embodiment and mindfulness go, we could all take a page out of a dog's book to remember how to stay grounded in the moment and to enjoy life's little gifts.
🐾BE FLEXIBLE- They are such wonderful creatures, always content to be sharing in whatever activity you are doing. They go with the flow, and rarely complain, ever grateful to be spending time with the people they love.
🐾STAY PLAYFUL- They are always ready to get excited about something. Whether it's a walk, a belly scratch, a treat or just the perfect stick, dogs are easy to please and see the world through an adventurous, joyful, and playful lens.
🐾LOVE BIG- They don't hold back when it comes to love. Licks on the face, cuddles and constant adoration and affection come so freely.
🐾BE YOURSELF- Dogs don't waste their time comparing themselves to other dogs. Some are goofy, some are protective, some are serious about their work - just like us. But dogs live their lives just being exactly what they are without questioning it, and that's a beautiful thing.
There are infinitely more lessons we can take from dogs, and I encourage you to keep this thought in your mind as you watch your furry companions. Enjoy how they see the world with such wonder and love, and ask yourself what are the ways you can strive to see the world through a dog's perspective.
